Grnrchst and Alanna the Brave, Glad you saw the October logo and are happy with it. We should add this event to the "announcement" section of the October WiR invite. Best, --WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 21:06, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested Page

[edit]

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place for this, I'd like to suggest Safeena Husain for the 31 day event. She is on the list of most popular low quality articles. I plan to edit her article during the event as well, but I think it will take significant work to bring it up to GA. Czarking0 (talk) 14:17, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GAN Backlog Drive

[edit]

Hi everyone! I hope you're looking forward to this edit-a-thon as much as I am. While much of our efforts in these edit-a-thons are focused on writing and nominating articles, it is important to remember that reviews are a part of the edit-a-thon too. The good article nomination process has a sustained backlog of unreviewed nominations, even including some that were nominated in our previous edit-a-thons. This month, our edit-a-thon is coinciding with the GAN Backlog Drive, which is focused on reviewing more than 250 nominations by editors who are new to the process. I highly encourage you all to get involved in helping review the backlog, as it'll greatly contribute to ensuring everyone's article gets reviewed.

For the GAN backlog drive, some articles that fall under our scope include:

Almost half of the 31 countries we're aiming to cover can be found in this list alone! If you're experienced in reviewing, please do consider taking some of these on, it'd be great to see new nominators getting their articles reviewed. I'll strike opened reviews off the list as we make our way through these. --Grnrchst (talk) 13:13, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

First week check-in

[edit]

Hey all! Hope everyone's doing well and making some good progress with their projects. We are through our first week of the event and are already making good progress, with new nominations representing women from northern Europe, western Asia, central Africa and the Pacific (accounting for 7 out of 31 countries so far). We are also seeing amazing efforts on the GAN review backlog, with 8 out of 43 backlogged nominations having been reviewed already. Best of luck to all of you in the coming weeks, I look forward to reading the articles you have written and reviewed. :) --Grnrchst (talk) 14:19, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Second week check-in

[edit]

Progress is going well! More new nominations and reviews has brought us up to 11 out of 31 countries, adding North American and West African regional representation. 17 out of 43 backlogged nominations have been reviewed, so we're well on track to clear this by the end of the month. Thanks to everyone that has participated so far! --Grnrchst (talk) 12:08, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
