Asiophile

I wikipediaed this and was surprised that there wasn't an article on it... Being Asian, I don't have a very good NPOV, so I need some help writing the article. I think it would be helpful in general. --Hitsuji Kinno 15:29, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

good edit

good edit on "Librarian". I think i concocted that mess in an attempt to compromise enough to avoid it being reverted, and I'm glad it's straightened out right.DGG 01:48, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Masamage, would this be a good link for the List of Sailor Moon Locations page? http://www.geocities.com/lunararchivist/mystplan.html It's a little old but it talks about the places in the solar system that are based on real space locations. Would that be of good use? Neptunekh 04:49, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

ANI, insults

In the UK, 'name calling' can be classed as illegal actually - under Section 5 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act. It comes down to 'Causing alarm, harrassment or distress by using actions or words that are threatening, abusive, or insulting' (not the exact wording but close). It comes down to whether the police officer construes your behaviour as threatening, abusive or insulting though, and then whether the CPS thinks there is a case and then whether a judge thinks so too... I know it isn't relevant but just thought it might be interesting to you.-Localzuk(talk) 22:14, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

You're right. I reverted them all except Earth. Since Mamoru doesn't take after Mother Earth (or Gaia), I left his unambig'd. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 08:41, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Youma or Yoma?

Hey there Masamage! Hey, I noticed that in SM episode 001 has the word Youma. I know what a Yoma is, and I have a manga that uses that word, except it's spelled "Yoma" (Claymore). I also saw that in 002, but I changed it to Yoma. So, I just wanted to ask, what kind of spelling should be used? Thanks for the help! --Tohru Honda13Sign here! 04:40, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Message

I left a topic at Talk:Sailor Moon episode 002. Could you help me? Thanks! --Tohru HondaSign here! 05:07, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey, um Masamage? Well, I was working on the Sailor Moon episode 002 article, trying to make it look like episode 001, but I just can't. I've been staring and mixing stuff around for about 40 minutes, but I didn't save it because I made a jumble of nonsense. Instead, I started copyediting it again. I'm really sorry, but I'm just not the right person to be moving paragraphs around (it's not that I don't want to, it's just that I'm incapable!)... all I'm useful for, in my opinion, is copyediting and adding references (sometimes). I hope that it's all right if that's all I do in the WikiProject? /_\ I'm sorry...I feel stupid for saying this, but could I leave it to you to re-organize stuff so it looks like 001? Scratch out what I said about being stupid, I feel lazy for asking this... I apologize again! --Tohru HondaSign here! 07:04, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Now....ON TO EPISODE 003! :) Sorry if I haven't been working with the Project in a while, I've been busy. And I've been meaning to ask you...are you the founder of the Sailor Moon WikiProject? Cheers! --Tohru Honda13 04:55, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi ^^

Hi there! Seeing as I keep meeting you all over Sailor Moon articles I thought I'd visit the userpage of such a dedicated Sailor Moon fan. :) I didn't know you had founded the SM wikiproject! Congratulations, it looks like the project is coming along quite nicely. I too have a lot of SM trivia stored in my head, anything I can help you with just drop me a line. I want to help with the wiki project anyway, but I'm not entirely sure where help is needed there.

Anyway, cheers and thanks for your time :) Raystorm 19:04, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, anything related to the manga I can do. I have the 18 volumes plus the 3 Sailor V ones. In several languages. :-) (Yeah, I know exactly how bad that sounds, but honestly, who am I kidding?)
The S anime season is the one I'm most familiar with, the only one I managed to get in Japanese with (decent) English subs.:P Next would be Stars (especially the second part of the season), and some distance behind, SS. R is definitely the one I'd have most problems with -only watched a few eps about the tree evil guys and Chibiusa's arrival. Please note that I've never seen the U.S dub -I watched the series in the Spanish and German tv's (Benefits of having satellite hehe -even if I don't speak German!). The movies I've seen them all, and have the dubbed versions even (better dub than German I thought. I regretted it as soon as I heard Luna's voice in the S movie. Yikes!). And then there are all the news that surround SM, which I faithfully followed until a few years ago -in time to hear a new live action show had begun in Japan, and that's it. The characters I'm more familiar with are the Outers, but I don't mind writing about any others (except perhaps Seiya, heh).
I hope that gives you an idea of my possible interests in this project. Point away, and I'll help in any way I can. :) Cheers Raystorm 16:20, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
*Grin* Who hasn't ever visited Hitoshi Doi's pages? That guy did a lot for SM fans haha.
I think I can help with the movies' articles, as well as the Stars (to some point) and S (definitely) summary series. With the Blackmoon series I'll only be able to help with the manga I'm afraid. I'm engaged with a FAC at the moment, but as soon as that's over I should be able to begin editing in earnest. Thanks for all the info! Raystorm 22:59, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Hey there. Just letting you know I'm free from the FAC (got my first FA, yay!) and will be available to start editing SM articles from now on. If you wanna begin the S arch summary, I'm all yours! It definitely sounds like a fun challenge. :-) I've checked the movie summaries, I'll see what I can add to them ok? Cheers! Raystorm 15:02, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

AfD: Anime South

I would appreciate any vote, for or against, on this AfD.

Sailor Chibichibi/Sailor Cosmos

My gripe is pretty straight forward with the merge... it's mixing up the identity of Sailor Cosmos and the anime version of Chibichibi... I'm pretty sure people will get confused... This was already demonstrated on the Sailor Cosmos page, merging the two most likely will add to that sort of confusion. If you can think up a method to clearly make it seem that Chibichibi's anime form is not the same as Sailor Cosmos of the manga and avoid fan confusion, etc then I'll change my mind. (i.e. make it skimable in such a way that there is no way people can confuse the two.) --Hitsuji Kinno 17:54, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello!

I noticed that you wanted Category:Manga and anime characters who can fly to be renamed Category:Manga and anime characters with the power to fly on the CFD for [Manga and anime → Anime and manga]. Let me ask you something: would you consider for a fictional character (from manga/anime) who has giant wings to fly be counted as a "power to fly", or just "can fly"? This is what I had to think over. Hence, I thought, it would be best for the category to remain the way it is. Do you see my point here? A fictional Japanese character that has wings wouldn't be considered to have "the power" to fly, they just "can fly" because they have wings. I don't know if you're familiar with Dragon Ball Z, but Goku can fly without wings. He is a fictional character who has "the power to fly", not the ability? Get what I mean? Do you plan to open up a Category For Discussion about this? Power level (Dragon Ball) 18:42, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. I support the category to be changed and renamed to Category:Anime and manga characters with the ability to fly. Makes more sense and covers both a manga/anime character's ability of having wings to fly and covers a character who has some sort of magic usage to fly respectively. If this is the case, then Category:Fictional characters with the power to fly should be changed to Category:Fictional characters with the ability to fly. Would you propose the CFD when the current one regarding manga/anime characters is settled? Power level (Dragon Ball) 03:47, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
But you remind me and let me know, ok? I might get so busy fixin' up the Wikipedia articles that I may end up forgettin' about it... Power level (Dragon Ball) 04:01, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Grammar and syntax

For future reference, you can start a sentence with "however"; it's "but" (because it is a coordinating conjunction, like "and") that cannot be used to start sentences. MSJapan 21:42, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi there! I forgot to tell you, but I added some info to the SM R movie. I'm a bit stumped at the moment -how much info do I add? I could go into serious detail here, but I don't know if that would be too much. I wanted to check in with you before doing anything. :-) Does it look okay as it is, or do I expand it further? Cheers Raystorm 21:28, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, I was bold and expanded the article. :-) It can be trimmed if needed, and definitely needs a copyedit check and more wikilinks, but it's fairly complete now. Cheers Raystorm 22:48, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Hey, there. I've responded to your post at WP:AN/I, but thought I should drop off another message, here. You may be interested in seeing User:Luna Santin/Sockwatch/SailorM -- by clicking the "linked recent changes" link, you'll be able to see the recent history of every page linked from there. The list was built using Special:Whatlinkshere/Template:Sailor Moon; if you see any pages which have been hit and aren't on the list, feel free to let me know or modify the list to fix the problem. I'll be keeping an eye on the situation through that list, but feel free to let me know if I'm missing anything. In addition to the pages which are already protected, I've added semi-protection to User:Masamage, User:Eternal Pink, Setsuna Meioh, and Minako Aino -- more protections and/or rangeblocks to follow if problems persist. Let me know if I miss anything. – Luna Santin (talk) 22:57, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm back!

So, about all of the Category:Anime and manga characters are in their place. How 'bout the CFDs you were gonna propose? Let me refresh your memory: Category:Anime and manga characters who can flyCategory:Anime and manga characters with the ability to fly, also the older category needs to be CFD'd from Category:Fictional characters with the power to flyCategory:Fictional characters with the ability to fly. You remember why, right? In fiction, some characters can fly using some sort of magic, psionic power, or some other form of inner energy. While others in fiction (like Gargoyles) use wings to take flight. This is rather important to note in the CFD in order to convince others, right? Power level (Dragon Ball) 17:51, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm guessing you're busy at the moment. You want me to propose the two cfd's for the above categories later then? Power level (Dragon Ball) 21:43, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
It took me a while, but I got it down pat! Whenever ya can, place your vote or comment on the matter here. See ya! Power level (Dragon Ball) 22:28, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

"surname"

"I thought surname meant only family names, but prefix isn't right either, so let's make it moot. Also explaining why this is relevant."

But the Sailor Senshi are a family, in a way. I've heard them referred to collectively as simply "Sailors", the Japanese naming order is surname first, and they refer to each other by their planetary names while transformed, giving me the notion that their planetary names can be construed as their given names while transformed. -- Denelson83 03:44, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: This vandal

Yeah, I've been in touch with BT-AOL. Between not wanting our little friend to know all the tricks of the trade, and not being sure how much they'll be happy with my revealing, suffice to say it's being worked on. They may not be able to help us out (technical and legal limitations get pretty serious when you're talking about the possibility of taking action on someone's ISP account), but they're taking the request seriously and looking into it. Beyond that, I'm still keeping an eye on things. I'd rather not protect a bunch of talk pages; if I do, it'd be shorter term. Blocking the range would be very last-ditch -- too much collateral on this one, unfortunately, or that would have been my first step. – Luna Santin (talk) 21:59, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Engrish

If you're going to revert the "Justice is not the only right" edit, why not also scratch the entire segment that says ' "The Road to Mt. Hobbs is being blocked by a thick ice", "Wow you noble looking", and "You are Cecil, I've heard of your feat". Some lines in the game also have poorly constructed sentences that run together in a bizarre fashion. When the white wizard Rosa recovers from her illness, she tells the hero Cecil, "I am alright. And I am a White Wizard. I won't bother you". '

None of those have anything to do with Japanese people mispronouncing English words, which is the explanation you have in the revert. -Thermal0xidizer

As regards the SM episode list....

I looked at the Fullmetal Alchemist ep list, and it's got 51 eps and a movie. Does that sound close to any other series you might be able to think of? Anything at all? Maybe?

My point is that the SM ep lists can be divided by series, and have links to the other series' lists with a small template. That would eliminate any size concerns on any one article regarding screencaps.

I corrected the romaji for the first series titles; I know 45 of them are correct, but I want to doublecheck #43, which means I need to do some digging. MSJapan 18:01, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Hmm. We are working on articles about each separate series already (a la Sailor Stars). Do you think it'd work to just add episode lists into those and do away with the master list altogether?
As for #43, my two sources (The Oracle and Hitoshi Doi) confirm what we've got for the title. For that matter, so do the furigana in the title screen.[2] ^_^ Although we should expand the S back out into sērā. --Masamage 18:11, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
I think there's enough material available for each series to have a standalone ep list that would be too big if incorporated into a series article; it also makes for a very good reference without wading through the rest of the article. MSJapan 18:23, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh, so you mean with mini-summaries and everything? Not a bad idea; were you thinking that this could eliminate the need for individual episode-summary articles? We could even link out to Doi and SM Uncensored... --Masamage 18:53, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
I would think so - an article that's an episode summayr isn't very interesting when it can be summed up in a few sentences. MSJapan 02:41, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

More romaji

Romaji notes: Makaiju wasn't consistently capped, so I decapped it as not a name. "hotaru" may be a pun, but it's still a firefly and not a name in the first instance; capping it violates Japanese title romanization rules. The only reading I could find for Haruka's surname (because I looked before I changed it) is the same reading for the usage wrt to the Emperor, and it's "tennou" (it's a special reading for the word, and there is no other). MSJapan 02:41, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Hum. Haruka's article says Ten'ou, and used to have a big bulky paragraph about why. I guess I'll have to look into that more... --Masamage 02:53, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Of course. I should be done with the manga in a couple of days, so that should be good for me too. It has a lot of editing needed to be done. I used that as a baseline because I have not seen the anime for about 3 months now, so I'm a little shaky on certain events.
