Portuguese

[edit]

Just put a watch on my user page and talk page. I hope I am helping more than hurting Wikipedia.

learnportuguese 23:45, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was confused when you said about differential accents. What did you mean? learnportuguese 21:20, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This was amazingly helpful. One other confusing concept for me about the Portuguese language is that some words can mean the same thing but have two spellings: for example, internacional/internacionais, atual/atuais, and a lot of other like these. They are patterns, but this concept still confuses me. Of course I'm still a beginner; I've got a long way to go before I consider myself intermediate, and an even longer way to go before I consider myself fluent. The one thing holding me back from progressing is my perfectionist attitude about my pronunciation. I figure since I want to be a radio journalist, I should speak as clearly as possible. I also want to be well understood by the native Portuguese speakers across the Portuguese-speaking world. learnportuguese 10:27, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well then, if I get this write, obrigada para seu ajuda. :-) That's interesting that to say thank you in Portuguese, you are saying that you are obliged to that person. I think it's a really friendly way to say it. learnportuguese 10:10, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

dropping a line to you

[edit]

Olá. I was just dropping a message because I haven't see any posts from you on my talk page for awhile. Be assured that my talk page is a friendly and dynamic environment with discussion on many aspects of the beautiful and fascinating Portuguese language. Just scroll to any section or the end of anyone's comments and type away. :-) learnportuguese (talk) 21:19, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

college

[edit]

Olá. College term starts January 10 and so I won't be on Wikipedia nearly as much. I thought I'd let you know. Just put my pages on your watchlist and you can start new discussions if you want. I think it's excellent what you have contributed so far! :-) User:Learnportuguese 04:54, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

special Portuguese characters

[edit]

Bom dia Cotoco. Como está? Well, your discussion of the special Portuguese characters (under the section in my talk page titled special characters in Portuguese) was very helpful. I know you're very good at English, mas se precisa ajuda estarei ao seu dispor. :-) learnportuguese (talk) 13:06, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Contrail formation

[edit]

Heya. You made a comment in 2006 on the contrail discussion page asking about what conditions are required for contrail formation. I just now provided a link to a nasa site with a lot of great information on this. Since I'm not a regular wikipedia user/editor I thought I'd just drop you a line to let you know in case you might wish to integrate the information into the article itself. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.157.232 (talk) 07:51, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Morro de Castelo

[edit]

Thanks for pointing out the misspelling in "Morro de Castelo". We keep this kind of redirect around in case someone types in that spelling in a search, but I've officially tagged this redirect as a misspelling so it doesn't show up in printed versions of the encyclopedia, etc. Obrigado!-- Beland (talk) 19:30, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
