Comments on Draft:Gilson (company)

[edit]

Hi, saw you at the Teahouse and came to take a look.

Any reason for not using Gilson Inc as the name? The first thing I noticed was Gilson all by itself.

It would be great to see countries mentioned for - Gilson International BV, PureLab Plastics, and Armen SAS

Would a "global manufacturer" only do business in 10 countries?

"According to the company, they create lab instruments" Is this a rumor? why is there a qualification? How about a direct statement "the company creates lab instruments"

The grammar is a little off in "a free open-source electronic lab notebook, and all of Gilson's devices can connect to." maybe "that all of Gilson's devices" or "Gilson's devices can connect to it"

There is no such category:Companies based in Middleton, Wisconsin

Good luck with your draft! Dougmcdonell (talk) 07:34, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, what you still have as references are not suitable at it includes catalog descriptions of Gilson products, Univ Wisconsin write-ups, content only peripherally mentioning Gilson, etc. My advice is continue to remove unsuitable references and hope there is enough left to support an article before the evaluation comes round again. Here is an experienced editor's comment on using one's own website as source of information and citation: "Really you should try to avoid citing your website at all, except for very basic, indisputable factual information like location, number of employees, etc. See WP:PRIMARY about primary sources. Things like "vision" and "mission" or your own organization's description of what it does are hard to independently verify and should not be in Wikipedia articles. Wikipedia has no interest in what an organization has to say about itself." David notMD (talk) 11:23, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
