Orca show still live

[edit]

Orca shows are live per Sea World's website - https://seaworld.com/san-antonio/shows/orca-encounter/. Rather than ending the Orca shows, they rebranded them - first to "One Ocean" then to "Orca Encounters". The substantial difference is the trainers are not in the main pool with the animals. Disney wants Sea World: Orlando

[edit]

Changes

[edit]

I want to delete SeaWorld of Ohio page because it has its own page and makes the article confusing. The whole article needs to be organized better. The language seems very negative towards SeaWorld, it is all biased towards the negative things. Orca section only mentions the attacks/fatals events. John Hargrove has indicated in videos on youtube that SW is/was breeding captive orcas from opposite parts of the world. He feels that the baby orcas are born without a social identity of their own, and since they do not belong to a pod, but are removed from their mothers to be trained by humans, that these orcas would face significant problems fitting in if they were released in the wild. He feels these are hybrid animals. This page could use an animal expert to address if this is a valid concern. 96.91.182.205 (talk) 14:38, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
John Hargrove is the former SW animal trainer who has spoken against their policies. 96.91.182.205 (talk) 14:39, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear Page

[edit]

Right now the page states that SeaWorld stopped the orca breeding in 2016, in the USA, and will phase this off; but it mentions that in Abu Dhabi a new park has opened? Could the article be made more clear? E. g. what's it now with the orcas, and what does Abu Dhabi have to do with that. That leaves me puzzled. We ought to see that wikipedia is clear in all statements made. 2A02:8388:1641:8380:5B2A:1D48:E08B:27B6 (talk) 23:53, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Osha violation should be own paragraph

[edit]

Is there a reason why SW's legal issues are hidden under the orca paragraphs? This section admitted that the US government has fined SW for policies that are not safe for their employees and animals should be fair and balanced. Making it a paragraph on it's own indicates that there has been some wrong doing on their part, rather than the accusations just coming from social justice workers. 96.91.182.205 (talk) 14:35, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think making it a separate paragraph is reasonable. The current paragraph is too long anyway. 23impartial (talk) 02:04, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
