Project directory

[edit]

Hello. The WikiProject Council has recently updated the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. This new directory includes a variety of categories and subcategories which will, with luck, potentially draw new members to the projects who are interested in those specific subjects. Please review the directory and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope that all the changes to the directory can be finished by the first of next month. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 15:30, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sri Lanka notice board

[edit]

There is also a Sri Lankan Wikipedians' notice board. It is of course not exactly the same thing, but should attract many of the same people. Tyronen 23:42, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Tyronnen. This is techincally a fit, but putting it up there would result in more vandalism by pro-govt people! Sudharsansn (talk ·  contribs) 13:46, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Project page ?RaveenS

Raveen The page Looks good. The artical list we can add or remove some later--Terrance 14:37, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nice that most of the members of this project helped us to save the template State Terrorism in Sri Lanka. I am really happy that we could give the readers of Wikipedia with a much more neutral view about the crisis in Sri Lanka, which is the mail goal of NCSLC. Now its time for us to save the category state terrorism. -Sechzehn (talk · contribs) 05:31, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Raveen, the page looks very good. We can take in the text and templates from the existing page and post it there. Please go ahead and implement it. And yes, we have saved the template :-) Thanks Sudharsansn (talk contribs) 06:18, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Representing the Tamil Tigers in a mediation, anyone?

[edit]

There is some movement in the mediation case Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-10-20 Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, as two new mediators have volunteereed, but it has no active representative of the other party. Any volunteers please sign your name in the other parties box. — Sebastian 16:48, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Was the blocking fair?

[edit]

I noticed that two members of this group have been blocked, one of them indefinitely. I find the current situation on Wikipedia appalling where it's very hard to see if blocks have been done fairly. Incidentally, I just brought up a case on Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration#Deltabeignet, where an administrator abused his power for three months with impunity. If you feel any of these case needs investigation, please let me know. — Sebastian 17:20, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is anyone still listening, or should I create a new project?

[edit]

I posted two questions above, but nobody replied so far.

As a mediator in the Sri Lanka conflict here on Wikipedia, I very much support your goals as stated on the project page. I recently created a draft for a Sri Lanka related guideline (User:SebastianHelm/Sri Lanka#Recommended guideline for editing Sri Lanka conflict related articles) and would like to have a forum to discuss this.

I would have preferred to discuss this here, but unfortunately, I could not persuade anybody from the GoSL friendly side to join me here. (see User talk:SebastianHelm/Sri Lanka#Wikipedia:WikiProject_NCSLC). My own enthusiasm for NCSLC has received a damper when I didn't get any responses here. Therefore, I'm thinking of creating a new WikiProject. Would you like to join me for a discussion about this on User talk:SebastianHelm/Sri Lanka#Wikipedia:WikiProject_NCSLC? — Sebastian 20:47, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since I got no reply, we created Wikipedia:WikiProject Sri Lanka Reconciliation last week. There's a lot going on already. Please visit us there! — Sebastian 04:04, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
