Does anyone have access to the following book:

Michaud, Michael A. G. (2006). Contact with Alien Civilizations: Our Hopes and Fears about Encountering Extraterrestrials. New York, New York, United States: Copernicus Books. ISBN 978-0-387-28598-6.
Google Books URL: http://books.google.com/books?id=tdAFlJnH648C

The book will be used to improve the Wikipedia article "Cultural impact of extraterrestrial contact " as it is being prepared for a featured article nomination. Any help in finding this tremendous resource, as well as M.A.G. Michaud's other works, would be greatly appreciated, as it would help me improve that Wikipedia even more. Please visit the page's bibliography to see even more sources that may be necessary.

There is rather large list. Please decide what exactly you want also provide link to download locations.--Shrike (talk) 18:30, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, few of the sources seem to exist anymore except for the Foreign Service Journal and the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society. Ad Astra is still there but I can't access the back issues. If you could give me the sources listed on Michaud's page which are in either JBIS or FSJ, I would be most grateful. It's a shame that some sources no longer exist... Wer900talkcoordinationconsensus defined 00:10, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You should provide links to download locations for example

Depending on how much you're willing to do and how much useful information's in them, these could just replace the Amazon refs at Arlene Davila#Books or could be used to expand the article, which is currently severely lacking in independent sources. I'm not sure I understand the rules about transferring files, but if it'd be appropriate you can email me. (I'm theoretically in line to get HighBeam eventually, so there's no real hurry.) Thanks! – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:24, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see the full title for either, but the first begins "Arlene Davila, Latinos, Inc.: the Marketing and Making of a..." and the second begins "Community Development and Neighborhood Planning.(Book..." Hope that helps!
I think there's some confusion here resulting from American Studies having merged with American Studies International in 2005 – I think the issue you listed above is the Fall 2003 issue of the former, whereas the article I'm looking for is in the latter. I can't find American Studies International stuff freely available online, but I might not be looking hard enough. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:44, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Linkable page http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/16342118 and the actual work by Schlegel referred to there is probably this one in Dutch (illustration here). Shyamal (talk) 05:15, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thanks, so the actual paper is in Dutch, hmmm, hope I can decipher it... I know Danish and most German, so perhaps that will help, combined with English. FunkMonk (talk) 13:24, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I can see it's not that particular Schlegel paper, the one I'm looking for announces the discovery of illustrations in the journal of the Dutch ship Gelderland, but I have no idea what the citation would be then. The paper you linked to is helpful anyway, it contains the first "accurate" restoration of the Reunion Solitaire. FunkMonk (talk) 13:35, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Since Schlegel perhaps never actually wrote a paper based on the journal, can someone find "Newton 1875" in Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London,pp. 349,350. which names Lophopsittacus mauritianus, based partially on a drawing in the Gelderland journal? Varied Thrushes (JSTOR)

Resolved

Hello, I'm searching for Stephen G. Martin's The Agonistic Behavior of Varied Thrushes (Ixoreus naevius) in Winter Assemblages, which was published in The Condor's Vol. 72, No. 4, its October 1970 edition; pages requested are 452 through 459. A short abstract is available on JSTOR, but I'd like the full version. Thanks. Editio princeps (talk) 16:03, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, could a copy of Birds of North America issue 541 be obtained - specifically, the full version of "Varied Thrush: Ixoreus Naevius"? Editio princeps (talk) 17:06, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I only have access to the first paper you requested. [50] Please let me know when you downloaded the file. OhanaUnitedTalk page 00:52, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've uploaded the article from Birds of North America here. Please let me know when you've downloaded successfully and I'll remove the link. Because you can't export PDFs directly from the website I wasn't able to include the figures, but if you need them let me know and I'll upload them separately. Hi Gabriel, thanks for doing this. I'm having some difficulty reading it. Normally I can easily read the dropbox versions, but this is very slow to load, almost to the point of freezing. The same is happening with the version I downloaded. It's not letting me scroll from page to page without getting stuck a lot. Don't know whether the problem is on my end or not. SlimVirgin (talk)
Hmm. I modified the PDF on my Mac and re-upload it. Try it again and see if its any better. GabrielF (talk) 05:29, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's Vincenzo Migliozzi and Alberto Bizzi, if it helps. LeadSongDog come howl! 19:09, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you think so? The latter should be Enrico Bizio. --тнояsтеn 20:00, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Note that Mertz catalog record has at least one other typo. The two I gave are jointly mentioned both here and here. Further, the paper you seek is cited here as:

Migliozzi V, Bizzi A., 1994 Considerazioni su una raccolta e studio di Macrolepiota puellaris (Fries) Moser. Funghi Ambiente 66:9-16

, note Bizzi, A not Bizio, E. There is one instance where Enrico shows up near Vincenzo, here, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility until the paper is seen, but it certainly doesn't seem to be the best bet. There are a few other libraries that have ISSN 1126-6228, but it is remarkably rare. I see that one of them hangs out on this discussion board, you might want to ask directly. 2. Bulgaria in the First World War
  3. THE BORDER LINE BETWEEN SYMPATHY AND SUPPORT: THE UNITED STATES AND THE BULGARIAN TERRITORIAL QUESTION AT THE PARIS PEACE CONFERENCE IN 1919

  8. The coup d'etat of Admiral Kolchak : the counter-revolution in Siberia and East Russia, 1917-1918

The last one being unrelated (an article for the Kolchak one in wikipedia) and maybe the hardest to get. Thank you in advance!--Rowanwindwhistler (talk) 21:17, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7. Please let me know when you downloaded the files. I will try order interlibrary loan and scan #3 for you. As for #8, it's a microfilm so the chance of getting the resource other than physically at the library is very slim. OhanaUnitedTalk page 22:16, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've uploaded #8 here. Lots of theses and dissertations are available online through ProQuest, which I think is a popular database. Please let me know when you've downloaded and I'll remove the link. GabrielF (talk) 01:01, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
