Draft:Vic Fischer

Same rationale as with the request for Albert Adams. Once again, what sort of massive lack of common sense and human judgement is being employed here that a signer of a state constitution and state senator is an unsuitable topic for an encyclopedia which reflects what's notable? This sort of bizarro attitude is only helped along by the fact that we have an article on his father, an anachronistic island of information which barely acknowledges his also-notable offspring. - RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 19:56, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

@RadioKAOS: You don't seem to understand that draft space isn't intended for indefinite hosting of material that hasn't been deemed suitable for publication in main space. If six months go by without any improvements or submission, the draft gets deleted. That policy was put into place a couple (or more) years ago. Nobody should be surprised that it's being enforced.
I note you have been listing articles here without actually making a request. Do you, or do you not, intend to work on them, or submit them for review? If not, then you have offered no reason to restore them. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:46, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
Why are you giving me the same bullshit boilerplate response as the other editor over a point which I've addressed multiple times already? Perhaps you may view pieces of process as islands unto themselves, but I don't see where I'm obligated to follow along. "You don't seem to understand that draft space isn't intended for indefinite hosting of material that hasn't been deemed suitable for publication in main space"? Perhaps you need to pay better attention to what's actually in article space. The history of one article, John Reck, provides a real good example of that. I have multiple sources pertaining to Reck in my collection, but I object to the idea that another editor dumped subpar, perfunctory content into article space just to claim creation credit, all the while expecting someone else to come along and do all the real work. There's a reason why I'm so fond of analogies to Night Shift: where did people get the idea that I came here to play Henry Winkler to someone else's Michael Keaton? If you didn't peruse the diff I provided in the other request, RHaworth asked me to move these projects offline, which I am in the process of doing right now. Your question to me appears to imply that if I came here, it was to grovel for your permission to improve the encyclopedia. I'm not a new user and resent being treated as such. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 01:24, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

Draft:Association of Village Council Presidents

Same as with the other two requests, except that this was an actual AFC submission and not something I initiated. Regardless, if you peruse the talk pages of each, you will see that they were assessed as Mid-Importance for a WikiProject. As I mention in the previous rationale, if you don't value an editor's good-faith efforts to identify these as topics suitable for an encyclopedia which reflects notable topics, then you should just say so directly. Rather, AFC has chosen to engage in mindless script editing and mindlessly carrying out process and trying to hide behind such editing in lieu of actually exercising any clear judgment. If they don't wish to help out in my efforts to expand our coverage of notable topics, that's fine, but I question the wisdom of attacking these efforts and making another editor start all over again from scratch. As this pattern of behavior from AFC participants has been obvious for quite some time, I will be happy to work on these on my own and bring them back when they're ready. - RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 20:06, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

G13s, provided they're being worked on, are restored on request here, RadioKAOS. They only get deleted if a long while (6 mo.) passes from the last edit. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 00:27, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
As I already mentioned, in among all the recent bullshit robo-messages on my talk page was a request from an admin to move my projects offline and work on them there, which is the intent of the requests on this page. Because I wasn't gaming the system like other editors and showing up every so often to make a null edit to keep it from being deleted, now it appears that you're questioning that intent. Based on the attitude I've experienced on this page so far, it's probably quite pointless of me to ask just exactly what benefit is to be gained by deleting this and making another editor start all over again from scratch, aside from the plainly obvious, previously-mentioned aspect of allowing very few editors to make content decisions on behalf of everyone else. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 01:44, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
I'm not questioning your intent with this one, I'm just clarifying that G13s are generally restored on request here if there's evidence they are or have been worked on. I questioned your placement of the last one, but never your intent. Please do not put words I never implied or intended into my mouth. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 03:20, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
  • The only thing we really need here RadioKAOS, is some sort of confirmation that these would be worked on in the future. If you want us to restore these to your userspace (which would put them at far less risk of deletion) then that's fine. Typically though, the draftspace is strongly associated with AfC and stale drafts seem to be relatively fair game for deletion. I know that I've created drafts that ended up going stale and getting deleted despite not being tagged as AfC articles and I have no problem with that personally, as I don't particularly like stale drafts hanging around with no one editing. (For me it's that a userspace article has one specific person tied to it whereas a draft can be far more easily abandoned since there's usually no one person monitoring the page, if you were curious as to my viewpoint on draft articles.) If you want to argue that not all drafts are AfC, this is the wrong forum for this and you need to take this up at WP:SPEEDY, if you haven't already. Offhand I'd like to ask that you use less profanity and keep a calmer head there, as getting worked up and using curse words isn't really going to be all that conducive to discussion. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:11, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Done - as an Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored on request. Please edit the page to address the issues raised when it was declined, and re-submit it; "Articles for creation" is not for the indefinite hosting of material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. For this sort of thing, you just have to ask, there is no need to get distressed. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:36, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

Draft:Albert P. Adams

There's more to this than asking to undelete a draft. What was the purpose of enabling Draft-Class for numerous WikiProjects when we have a single WP, in this case AFC, disingenuously ignoring or otherwise exercising veto power over non-AFC editing made within draftspace? This draft was deleted under G13, but was never intended to be an AFC submission. Rather, a single AFC participant took it upon himself to hijack it, with zero regard for the fact that a person who served in a state legislature for twenty years is a notable topic which deserves coverage in an encyclopedia which reflects notable topics, never mind the fact that he belonged to an ethnic group which is badly underrepresented on the encyclopedia (oh, but it's okay to invoke WP:BIAS whenever it suits your purposes?). From what I've seen, caving in to COI contributors who are here to push non-notable promotional spam is a much higher priority to these editors than are inherently notable topics such as this. Additionally, {{Db-g13}} makes reference to "the Articles for Creation namespace", which doesn't explicitly mention draftspace, while WP:G13 states that G13 applies to content "that are using the project's {{AFC submission}} template." Once again, I'm not submitting anything I'm working on through AFC, but they're choosing to hijack it nonetheless, with zero intent on helping me to expand our coverage of notable topics. Going back to what I said in the first place, if draftspace is intended to be the private plaything for one particular WikiProject, then you need to disable Draft-Class for the other WPs and hide its content from new page patrollers such as myself. I'm bypassing the G13 grovel board in this case because the G13 template forces boilerplate language on me which makes me out to be a new user begging for something because I don't understand how Wikipedia works, which I object to, plus the aforementioned fact that I never submitted anything through AFC. - RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 19:53, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

If it was never intended as an AfC submission, then why did you put it in draft space instead of a user sandbox or directly into mainspace if the sourcing was there? Your argument seems self-defeating here. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:23, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
Wrong question to ask. First of all, the editor who deleted this particular draft with no discussion or warning whatsoever has been on a bent for the better part of the past year to mass-delete content while giving no clear idea as to why such content is "unsuitable", and has extended this crusade as of late to userspaces. The last I read, the whole mess is likely to wind up at Arbcom, and all to fix something which really wasn't broken in the first place. If you're participating in a highly specialized venue such as this, then you can't honestly expect me to believe that you're oblivious to that. That one editor has been directly or indirectly responsible for a staggering number of RFCs in recent months. I haven't tracked down the exact comment, but one editor's assessment that this is ultimately a ploy to allow a select group of editors the ability to decide what is and isn't notable on behalf of the rest of the community was right on the money. Secondly, instead of talking down to other editors by repeatedly beating them over the head with condescending boilerplate language such as "using Wikipedia as a free web host", why don't you actually pay attention to what happens in draftspace? Right now, as we speak, there are editors who have created placeholders in draftspace, who then show up every few weeks or months to make a null edit to keep the draft from being deleted. If you engage in AFC strictly to mindlessly carry out process, then you won't be aware of this activity because there's no backlog to clear out. Because I have chosen not to play silly games such as that, my contributions are being judged differently from those other contributions, which in and of itself is a silly game. It's not leading us towards expanding our coverage of notable topics, that's for damn sure. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 22:51, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
RadioKAOS, you seem to think that a draft article is somehow different from an article for creation, but it isn't. Draft articles are articles for creation, and if you were using draft space for some other purpose then yo were misusing it. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:38, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
I've already pointed out that this is being stressed more through implication more than anything else, so I shouldn't have to repeat myself simply because you breezed past that point. However, if you need that to be made any clearer, please read this. Here we have an AFC participant who acknowledges that I'm not doing anything wrong *except in his opinion*, and offering the impression that this opinion is rooted in the fact that I'm working on my own and not submitting these through AFC and therefore not providing those editors with fodder. If you bother to peruse my talk page beyond that one message and the page which RHaworth left in my userspace, you can see that he has taken it upon himself to make me "responsible" for drafts where my only contributions were minor maintenance-related edits. You contend that draftspace exists solely to support AFC, while at the same time completely avoiding the question of why Draft-Class was enabled for other WPs. Now, I get it that Justin is fond of using AWB to make frivolous edits by the untold thousands because he's engaged in some sort of editing competition, but I fail to see what that has to do with building an encyclopedia. OTOH, please feel free to point out anything which I have placed in my userspace or in draftspace which has nothing to do with building an encyclopedia, so I can correct that. Otherwise, all I'm seeing here are other editors sitting around expecting me to do all the work for them so that they have something to pass judgment on, all the while not lifting a finger to help. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 22:51, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Done Ricky81682 certainly deleted this out of process and deserved a WP:Trout. I think others have complained about this before, but this board is not for this sort of argument. Draft:Parting gift

Parting gift was deleted. I asked to give me a possibility to continue to work on it. At these times there were varuous ideas about new articles, incubator, draft. So instead of userfing it was "incubated" and "drafted", and finally an admin decided to delete it. And now the deleting admin refused to userfy it on a whim without even asking for my explanations. I am not asking to userfy my granddad bio. This is an encyclopedic topic, for Gods' sake despite the ridiculous opinion at the Afd "a few trivial anecdotes". How on Earth, eg Japanese gift-giving traditions is an "anecdote", is only in the brain of smartass know-it alls. I have created 4,000+ articles, including various weird things, such as Turkey bowling, and it is the first time I am seeing such rudeness. - üser:Altenmann >t 00:27, 11 June 2016 (UTC) -- üser:Altenmann >t 00:27, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

I did not "refuse to userfy it on a whim": I explained my reasons for doubting that restoring the page would be helpful, and waited to see what response, if any, Altenmann would make. It is true that I didn't explicitly ask for Altenmann's reasons, but I thought that explaining my thoughts on the matter would allow him to give his reasons if he wished to. Altenmann may perhaps like to think about his remark about "rudeness" coming in the immediate sentence following his referring to people he disagrees with as "smartass know-it alls". Anyway, I have restored the page now. It will be interesting to see what Altenmann makes of it. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 13:44, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

  • I'm a little leery about this. I need to ask: are you aware that Wikipedia is not a place to promote yourself? I'm concerned that your userpage is basically one big mass of links to your various websites and things you've done. Userpages should only contain information about yourself as it pertains to Wikipedia. It should not be used as a way to get people to visit your websites or view various off-Wikipedia information about yourself. Some basic info is fine, but your page just seems a bit too promotional. The AfC article is also a bit promotional as well. Not terribly so, but it would require a basic re-write because there are some things that are a bit problematic when you consider that you're writing your own autobiography. Adding in info like page hits and views can be seen as indiscriminate or promotional, especially given your userpage and that you link to your acting demo in your external links section. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:12, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
  • I also don't really see where you would ultimately pass notability guidelines. You don't seem to have received any independent coverage in reliable sources, not enough to where you'd pass notability guidelines, and I also don't see where you even have an IMDb page. This last part doesn't mean that someone can't be notable, but it is usually fairly telling when IMDb doesn't automatically catalog someone's acting roles. This usually means that the roles are either minor walk on roles or uncredited ones, neither of which give notability except in very rare situations. You wrote that you were in an award winning commercial, however you were not the recipient of the commercial and commercials rarely give notability on Wikipedia because there are so many of them - to give notability you'd have to establish where the commercial is independently noteworthy. In other words, I don't really think that restoring the article would be all that beneficial since there's little to no chance of this passing NACTOR at this point in time and you've been working on this since 2012 and it's already been restored twice. I think that we'd be giving you a bit of false hope at this point if we restore this a third time, so Not done. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:20, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

CloudKaptan Consultancy Services Private Limited

The CloudKaptan Consultancy Services Private Limited is a growing firm and it should be in wikipedia and it is not a startup company. I request you not to delete the page. -Khushilove (talk) 07:23, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

  • Not done Khushilove: This page was up for deletion per A7 and G11. Offhand the promotional concerns appear valid since the bulk of the article is very promotional. It looks like this page had already been deleted at CloudKaptan for the same reasons. The page would need a complete and total re-write in order to pass notability guidelines, however I'm also concerned that there does not appear to have been any coverage of the company in independent and reliable sources like newspapers. All companies need to have coverage in order to assert notability per WP:NCORP and I just don't see it here, so I'm leaving the article deleted (I deleted the most current version). You can try creating this at WP:AfC, but it must be non-promotional, it must be sourced with independent WP:RS, and you must also disclose any potential conflict of interest in this situation, since the article layout/tone gives off the impression that you're likely editing with a conflict of interest. I do sympathize with the potential COI since I know that it's not easy (from my own experiences with editing with a small amount of COI), but this does need to be disclosed and you do need to be careful with tone and sourcing. To explain, the person who took them is willing to release them under a suitable Creative Commons licence. However I got busy in real life and never got round to making sure the permissions were formally requested and e-mailed in. DanielJCooper (talk) 17:39, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Even if it weren't a biography written by or at the behest of the subject, it was pointed out last time that the page wasn't in English. The English Wikipedia does not accept articles not written in English. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:33, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
All versions after the first deletion actually were in English.
@Ateng25: We still don't restore pages marked "A7" or "G11" here, though, like the huge box above the edit window told you. You're going to have to either convince one of the administrators who deleted it - that would be User talk:RHaworth, User talk:Lectonar, or User talk:Huon - or go through the more formal process at Wikipedia:Deletion review. I don't like your chances either way. —Cryptic 20:59, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

Labeled "Best Little Museum in San Diego" by the San Diego Union, it is run by volunteers and has over 30,000 visitors a year. We display thousands of artifacts showing the history of our Western and Native American heritage. The reason for the deletion is fueled by a personality conflict by a person and one of our volunteer board of directors.

Note: The page isn't deleted, therefore there's no reason to undelete it. Please follow the instructions on the deletion tag in order to contest (if a speedy deletion or prod/stickyprod) or argue against (if a deletion debate) deletion. requesting deleted draft -Prisencolin (talk) 23:47, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

  • Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Trevor Henry (sports announcer), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion. After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. The page in the afd was moved to a draft in the deletion discussion time (not permitted) but deletion discussion decided to delete this anyway. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:23, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

The discussion was at AfD, not MfD, so I believe the deletion was erroneous. Plus I had moved the article out of article space already.

When discussion started at AFD it was 13 May 2016. The page was first moved on 17 May 2016, afd closed on 21 May 2016, then moved out of article space to your user space, then to draft space. I suggest that you start again, not using content from the banned user. It is interesting that the closer moved the page on the second move. So I would recommend asking User:Nakon again about this.
