Hello, Versys guy, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits to the page Types of motorcycles have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. As well, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  --Dennis Bratland (talk) 03:11, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look at WP:NPOV. You need to write in a less promotional and more neutral manner. I was tempted to mass-revert your changes to the Versys article, but instead I will go and tone down the language. If you need help or advice then ask me or Dennis - we are very happy to assist and encourage fellow bike enthusiasts. --Biker Biker (talk) 22:01, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Adventure (motorcycles) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Lithorien (talk) 22:45, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Adventure (motorcycle) for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Adventure (motorcycle) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adventure (motorcycle) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Biker Biker (talk) 22:48, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries, please

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Kawasaki Versys. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Brianhe (talk) 22:56, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dual sport issues

[edit]

I reverted your edit to Dual-sport motorcycle, as well as some others. You need to stop and consider that Wikipedia works by consensus, and it works by citing sources. I.e. verifiability. Running off changing everything to suit your opinions while Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adventure (motorcycle) is still under consideration is kind of putting the cart before the horse. It's obvious that several editors object to your agenda. Wait and see what the out come is, then proceed. Wikipedia has all the time in the world and there's no rush.

Additionally, please do not delete cited material when you yourself are not providing any better citations that counter the original edits. If you have sources which you feel are more reliable the ones cited, go on the talk page and explain that. Don't just overrule reliable sources without citing something. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 01:51, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

...And by the way, there is plenty to do besides worrying about which classification a bike goes in. A very good use of your time would be to work on citing other missing facts on the Tiger and Multistrada and V-Strom pages, without getting hung up on whether they're dual sports or adventure bikes. A lot of these articles are stubs and could use expansion. Usually when there's a disupte about something on Wikipedia the best strategy is to bide your time working on uncontroversial things while the dispute works itself out. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 02:02, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Valve adj shim2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 04:35, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
