[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Bede's Summer School, from its old location at User:SarahDigitalDoctor/sandbox/Bede's Summer School. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. /wiae /tlk 14:02, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Motorsport Industry Association

[edit]

Can I ask why you removed the references from Motorsport Industry Association? - X201 (talk) 13:39, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We're editing the page with more up to date info (I'm a member of the MIA team) SarahDigitalDoctor (talk) 14:24, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removing the references could lead to it being deleted. Also, given what you have just said, have you read WP:COI? - X201 (talk) 18:21, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No wasn't aware of this - thank you for the link. The aim here is not for marketing and promotion whatsoever merely to mirror other similar trade association pagesSarahDigitalDoctor (talk) 19:29, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Still not clear how COI is declared. If we would like further amends, please advise how we go about this to ensure total transparencySarahDigitalDoctor (talk) 20:02, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can I propose amends here for review, having noted on the COIN: The COI guideline does not absolutely prohibit people with a connection to a subject from editing articles on that subject. Editors who have such a connection can still comply with the COI guideline by discussing proposed article changes first, or by making uncontroversial edits...?SarahDigitalDoctor (talk) 20:14, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, the normal way of doing things is to put suggested changes on the article talk page (Talk:Motorsport Industry Association) If there's no response after a week, drop a request on WP:HELPDESK asking for someone to check them over.
You can declare a paid COI by following the instructions at WP:COIPAYDISCLOSE
Uncontroversial edits are things like vandalism, or things that are obviously blatantly untrue or wrong e.g. The name of the chairman being three years out of date.
One other thing. Your account should be used solely by you, it should not be shared with anyone else (WP:NOSHARING)
Is the MIA logo on the top of this page the current one? I'll get it uploaded for you and save you the pain of the image upload system.
Hope this helps, feel free to contact me if you need any help. - X201 (talk) 07:49, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's really helpful thanks, hopefully I've uploaded the disclosure correctly. And yes, that is the correct logo. Hopefully the amends will be accepted - they're only corrections and I was also concerned that the style of the original content could be construed as self-promotion and uncorroborated in some areas. Appreciate your adviceSarahDigitalDoctor (talk) 10:08, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
