Thank you for your support in my Request for Adminship. Unfortunately the nomination did not succeed, but please rest assured that I am still in full support of the Wikipedia project, and I'll try again in a few months! If you ever have any questions or suggestions for me, please don't hesitate to contact me. Best wishes, --Elonka 03:38, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

DYK

Updated DYK query On August 10, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Ben Kuroki, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Good to see you agian MONGO. Happy editing, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 08:52, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Accusations of mounting personal attacks

MONGO, here, you accused me of mounting personal attacks against you. When I pressed you on what those personal attacks consisted of, you again accused me of attacking you. When I pressed you further, you responded:

After the other admin removed it, did you put it back? Okay, thanks

So twice today you have accused me of attacking you and have refused to substantiate your charges. Until such time as you can substantiate your accusation, please stop accusing me of attacking you. — goethean 21:28, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Check the rfa...the link to the frivilous complaint you filed at AN/I on me is there...if you still don't understand what userpages are and are not to be used for, you have learned nothing...so check this for further guidance. Thanks.--MONGO 21:31, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Further...[1]--MONGO 21:32, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Those links don't answer my question. All you do is accuse and evade. Please stop accusing me of attacking you personally untuil such time as you can substantiate the charges. Thanks. — goethean 22:22, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
If you can't click those links and read the multiple comments there condemning your misuse of your userspace to attack myself and others, then I cannot help you.--MONGO 22:25, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Please refrain

from making changes to my userpage describing myself without consensus. VanTucky (talk) 18:13, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

There is no need for consensus as far as userpages go...either use them for what they are supposed to be used for, or find another website to edit.--MONGO 18:14, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

MONGO, please do something for me

MONGO, I would like to see you run for admin. Of course, it will fail, but just for kicks, just to see how many people's heads will explode with their SUPERSONIC STRONG OPPOSEs. :) The Evil Spartan 19:34, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks guys...but I am on a lot of enemies lists. Right now, I am pretty angry about this website.--MONGO 22:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Been there, believe me. But don't abandon the asylum to the lunatics. Raymond Arritt 22:14, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
I am beginning to think that this website is dominated by anarchists and morons, not serious contributors to the effort of writng an encyclopedia. My desire to edit this website is really low at this point...all I feel like doing is tracking down all the socks and banned editors and getting then blocked.--MONGO 00:07, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I've been wondering about applying to the august body myself. Perhaps we should co-ordinate cos I think either of us would be equally controversial, and we havent seen much of that since Gracenotes. I understand your not liking wikipedia that much. You'd get my vote based on your contribs right now anyway, FWIW, SqueakBox 00:18, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

'Friends lists' and civility

I saw your post about Smedley's 'friends list'. I'm in a similar situation, where despite my plain request (and my removal of his name from my talk page after a long lull in our interaction) TDC has refused to remove my name (and my name alone) for months on a 'friends list' of his own [3]. If you could help TDC to understand your viewpoint that excessive use of such lists can be perceived by some as stalking, and work to have him remove my name from his 'user' page, I'd be grateful... since there's no call for it whatsoever. If you'd like to see links about the context, I'm happy to provide them. Thanks, MONGO. -- User:RyanFreisling @ 00:00, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

You rock and my support for you remains as strong as ever. Be well. -- User:RyanFreisling @ 00:04, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I'll look around and see who else is linking like that. I know Bauder does, but we assume his rationale is due to his arbcom work. Lowly editors such as me don't need to link to anything but the articles.--MONGO 00:23, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
When one is in the midst of conflicts, it can be helpful to maintain useful links to specific diffs, but I imagine one could just as easily keep their notes off-wiki, to avoid undue escalation and misperception of insult. I would fully back a decision based on the general principle that such lists are more often used as attacks than as assets for conflict resolution. -- User:RyanFreisling @ 00:25, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

You mean the links that are being edit warred over? I can, but first can you explain what the edit war was all about and what the point of the links are? MessedRocker (talk) 01:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I removed links to me on another userpage, put there for no reason other than to stalk my edits and those of others.[4] I also asked VanTucky to not attack someone on his userpage[5]. If you look at the thread just above this one, Ryan asked me to help her with links on TDC's page...so I did and would like to be impartial and get everyone to stop misusing their userpages...it's just a matter of courtesy and enforcing WP:USERPAGE.--MONGO 01:52, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure what to make of the issue. If you'd like to bring it to WP:AN/I or something like that, go ahead. MessedRocker (talk) 01:59, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Okay, well, I tried. Thanks though for inquiring.--MONGO 02:02, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
MONGO, thanks for the intent and for your boldness. Perhaps TDC will relent, 10 months after the fact, and remove the links. In either case, I'm perfectly content to go on ignoring it, since the only reason for him to keep them up is if he thinks it's 'Torturous' or 'Devastating' for me. It's not. Anyway, honest thanks again. :) -- User:RyanFreisling @ 02:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
He is offline it appears...I'll try again tomorrow. I know we all can hold grudges but the best thing is to not use userpages for that purpose.--MONGO 02:11, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Calm down

I understand that things are quite heated at Wikipedia talk:Requests for adminship/Crockspot, but calling someone a jerk can very easily be considered a personal attack. Reverting someone's removal of your comment (when they had very clearly identified it as a personal attack) under the guise of reverting vandalism is a bit shady. Try stepping away for a little while. EVula // talk // // 05:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

How dare you remove my comment after I was attacked and insulted there by that JERK! Either offer your warnings equally or hand in your admin bit now.--MONGO 05:12, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I've removed that whole bit of the conversation, as it was entirely counter-productive. My advice that you not lower yourself to a troll's level is still quite sound, though (at least in my opinion). EVula // talk // // 05:14, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
The whole bit eh...so the part where SevenOfDiamonds calls me a troll gets to stay...way to be impartial...[6]--MONGO 05:16, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I'm sorry that I'm not catching every little thing; I haven't read it all, I just happened to notice your instance that calling an editor a jerk was perfectly acceptible. I appreciate your insinuation that I'm in league with the vandals; is there anything else you'd like to unfairly heap on me? EVula // talk // // 05:21, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I see, so my comment is equated as you being in a league with vandals....all I asked was that you not be partial...that if you were going to delete the comments that you delete all of them...--MONGO 05:44, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Something still needs to be done about users such as Bmedley Sutler and SevenOfDiamonds and their IP sockpuppets. They both, especially Bmedley Sutler, are accounts that used mostly for left-wing POV-pushing and trolling. MONGO has every right to be mad. They have constantly attacked him and no one has done anything about it. Pablo Talk | Contributions 05:17, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Let's not forget that Bmedley committed a BLP violation so blatant that nearly everyone agrees that my RfA should be blanked after closing. I see he has me on his "friends" list too. Is he claiming that the people on that list are his friends? Geez, I'd hate to be the guy's enemy, if that's the case. - Crockspot 14:23, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
BLP covers editors? — goethean 15:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Time will tell...--MONGO 05:34, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Let's be proactive. The bottom line is that they need to leave, so let's think of what we ought to do to take care of it. Any ideas? I must admit that I am not so familiar with the RfC/ArbCom/Community Sanction processes. Pablo Talk | Contributions 05:40, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Trust me...it is being worked on.--MONGO 05:44, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I tried to make this as clear as possible Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/Lovelight. Let me know if it's confusing. --Tbeatty 07:00, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Not sure about the part where it says Lovelight's contibutions on 4/13...links to a more current page...--MONGO 07:03, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I fixed it. On April 13, that IP edited as Lovelight. Lovelight was the only one adding people to the template. --Tbeatty 07:19, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I think I know who it was adding those "rappers", and I'm nearly 100% certain it was not Lovelight. --Aude (talk) 07:23, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
The SoD person is the "rapper" person. That's the weakest link in the request is lovelight to IP but I still think it's pretty solid. --Tbeatty 07:35, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
We know SoD's IP, and I also know Lovelight's IP from when he was a new user and use to edit sometimes while logged out. They trace to entirely different locations. I don't want to disclose IPs on wiki, but can give you more details via e-mail. --Aude (talk) 07:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Also, Lovelight's last edits were May 1. We don't keep IP information for edits that long, so the request will come back as "stale" anyway. Nonetheless, Lovelight and SoD are not a match. But SoD is a sock of another banned user. I'm fairly sure I know who it is, but a match can't be made with checkuser, because the edit history of banned user would be stale (IP information not kept this long). --Aude (talk) 07:51, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

"First edit in two weeks"

I find your note attached to my vote on Crockspot's RFA that it is my "first edit in two weeks" patently offensive and belittling of my contributions, however frequently or infrequently I am able or willing to make them. I request that you remove or redact it. Awaiting your reply, ➪HiDrNick! 05:56, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

No...whenever someone comes to an Rfa or other !vote out of the blue after not editing for awile it is often a red flag.--MONGO 05:58, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Not when they are an established editor. ViridaeTalk 06:14, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Odd...no edits for two weeks and then they edit that Rfa...no read flag for you eh. Well okie dokie.--MONGO 06:17, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
It is being discussed on the mailing list and was mentioned on ANI. It was only because it was mentioned on ANI that I took a look. That doesn't make my opinion less valid. ViridaeTalk 06:27, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Nor mine...I;m still waiting for that diff which shows I ever called Evula a Jerk...--MONGO 06:30, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I reiterate my request. Your SPA-style tagging of my vote implies that you feel my opinion should not be counted. Is this true? How frequently and to what extent do you think that I should contribute for my opinions to be worthwhile? Is this codified in a policy somewhere that I missed? Is it rather that you don't care much for my type of contributions, or the articles that I choose to work on? Should I make an edit to my userpage every once in awhile, or perhaps fix a comma splice just so that people know I'm still participating?

Your comment, while obviously true on its face, was uncivil in its context. Please remove it. Sincerely, ➪HiDrNick! 07:11, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Feel free to remove it...there is nothing unusual about tagging or questioning contributions to a contentious Rfa or deletion vote when an editor shows up after not editing for awhile. It is not incivil in the least and if you had a higher participation level, you would see that this happens quite frequently.--MONGO 07:20, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

ANI Comment

Specifically this one. It's uncalled for. Please ... step back for a minute and tone it down - Alison 16:03, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

This warning was outrageously out of line and I do not have to tolerate demanding threats like that by an active administrator on this website...especially since he was completely incorrect in his accusation as I never once told that editor that she was a jerk. If he not going to apologize for his ungrounded threat, then there is no reason for me to not reciprocate in kind. I am not this website's punching bag.--MONGO 16:11, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Viridae has a point here, IMO. Indeed, you're still overreacting here. Honestly, listen to Bishonen below & step back for a minute - Alison 16:40, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
No, he does not. I do not, ever, have to tolerate admin abuse. He not once (nor did Evula) warn that other editor for his baiting and insults. I have every right to defend myself from false accusations, and from his harassment and don't lecture me that I don't, when I do.--MONGO 16:47, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Fine. I tried. We're done - Alison 16:52, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
All I am asking is everyone leave me alone and stop misrepresenting me all over the place. If I see false accusations about me, I will defend myself. If these accusations are threatening or abusive or simply wrong, I will not tolerate them. I have warned three people today to stay off my talkpage and I have no intention of posting to there's again, so long as they abide my wishes. There are also two banned editors who are editing in violation of their ban and I am trying, along with several other editors, to assemble the diffs to show that they are indeed, ban evaders.--MONGO 16:58, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

No, you're not, but take a deep breath, please, now. Go outside and take some photos and breathe the air. Please. Bishonen | talk 16:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC).

Certainly...I am, as always, Bishonen, deeply impressed with whatever you have to say and always do what I can to follow that lead.--MONGO 18:22, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
