Your draft

[edit]

Consider requesting that Draft:2023 South Dusable Lake Shore car crash be deleted, as there is no information that suggests it can meet Wikipedia's standard for notability. To do so, put at the top of the draft, inside double curly brackets {{ }}, Db-author. This will request an Administrator to delete the draft. David notMD (talk) 21:06, 12 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah i mainly used this for a sketch article to use the different features of Wikipedia without having to edit because i didnt know how to use them at the time, will do. Lolzer3000 (talk) 14:36, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Citation FYI

[edit]

Hi Lolzer

I was reading through 2024 in aviation and noticed that David E. Harris's death hadn't been properly cited. I fixed it now, but as you added them I wanted to mention it and give you a few pointers on how to properly cite stuff.

Firstly, I suggest you be more specific, so instead of "MSN" or "NPR" say "Blair, Elizabeth (13 March 2024). "The first Black pilot of a commercial airline has died at 89". NPR. Retrieved 14 March 2024.", for example. You want to give it as much detail as you can so it's as clear as possible to someone viewing where you got the info.

Secondly, you need to link the article itself, rather than just the network. You only linked "www.MSN.com", so as soon as the article you saw was off the front page, I could't go and verify it. Like, imagine I tried to cite www.bbc.co.uk for something, as opposed to https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68643137. The second link will work until the article is taken down, but the first will stop being useful as soon as more news happens, which it probably will.

I don't mean to sound rude or anything, I just wanted to give you some advice to make sure you don't make the same mistake in the future. :) SqueakSquawk4 (talk) 22:46, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cessna 5Y-NNJ

When was this picture taken?

Howdy! You recently added this picture of Cessna 5Y-NNJ to the Safarilink Aviation Flight 053 article, which is great. However, it would be helpful to caption the photo with the date it was taken, but the creation date per Wikimedia Commons is 6 Sep 2024, which is not possible because the aircraft was thoroughly destroyed in March 2024. Can you please edit the file data to show the actual date the photo was taken? Carguychris (talk) 21:33, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Permission

[edit]

Just to expand on this discussion @Lolzer3000: Are you sure that this photo is your own work? The image seems to be copyrighted and comes from Peter Leu who posted it on Flugzeug.bild. Images that are on the website are copyrighted – [1] – so I'm just wondering if you have permission to use it or not. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 08:26, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Aviationwikiflight. I've nominated the image for deletion because this User says its from his work yet he took it from here ==> [2]. Was it the right move? Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 22:58, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
my IP account here, this was taken from the ASN dialouge, no image credit was given and i didnt figure to go find where it was from @Aviationwikiflight 75.174.150.56 (talk) 20:47, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Read this. ==> [3]. <== Read that. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 22:28, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just a reminder that an image not having a copyright tag doesn't necessarily mean it is free to use. I would suggest next time to perform an image search and see if it is possible to find information regarding the image. Cheers. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 14:19, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Apoligies, i'll figure out how to properly use copyright for images, shouldnt be too hard. @Aviationwikiflight Lolzer3000 (talk) 14:47, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
