Speedy deletion of Bill2phone

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Bill2phone, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 13:42, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken another look at it and see that you might be right. Except, it actually contains very little information on the company itself; only the service they provide. That is part of what makes it seem like advertising; if it's a generic service, then no need to focus on only this company, and if we're focusing on only this company, give more than a marketing push. Another comment: way, way too much formatting; less spans, fonts, etc. We don't need nor want those here. Also, re-evaluate the external links - An aimless link to NANPA adds nothing to the article and just confuses people looking for more information; perhaps there is a specific page on the NANPA site you're wanting to link to? That said, I will undelete it if you promise to make these changes. --Golbez (talk) 16:06, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ldevin2 (talk) 13:56, 21 May 2008 (UTC) Thanks for relooking at this. You are correct that it goes into almost nothing about the company itself and that was intentional. The market push or advertising would occur if you did actually promote the company over any other company. The company is a clearinghouse like the others noted in the article. Therefore it was my attempt not to promote one company over another. The article is about a service that is generally available to merchants.[reply]

I will absolutely try to make those changes. The formatting doesn't seem to appear in the article and those in the tags were generated by Microsoft. I don't know that much about these things <g>, but I'll give it a collegiate try. I'll look at the NANPA site to get more specific.

Do I need to put the hangon tag on?

Ldevin2 (talk) 14:34, 21 May 2008 (UTC) I made all the formatting changes. Removed the one Nanpa reference as it had a more specific reference below that. And I hope the removal of the all BSG reference except the one that would be required to identify the service and those of others helps.[reply]

I've restored the talk page. Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 21:22, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
