Beekman Tower

[edit]

Do you have a source for the Beekman Tower being officially renamed "8 Spruce Street"? Thanks, Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:39, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I found it on Curbed and in the Times. Sorry about that. Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:41, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry too, got kicked off the Internet before citing anything. Thanks for letting it go back to 8 Spruce Street. --Jcon9 (talk) 01:07, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it wasn't me that fiddled with it, it was someone else, but if I hadn't found the refs I probably would have done the same thing. Too many people fool around with the names of real-estate articles, and I jumped to a wrong assumption. Thanks for keeping the article current with recent events. Your contributed article, Hampton Roads (region)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Hampton Roads (region). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Hampton Roads. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Hampton Roads - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ErikHaugen (talk) 20:05, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Hampton Roads has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Hampton Roads (region), a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. ErikHaugen (talk) 20:09, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss!

[edit]

You are making some radical changes to Hampton Roads and it is difficult to get you to engage on this. Can you please note here what you are trying to do? Please discuss here or here:Talk:Hampton_Roads#Split_the_article_into_Hampton_Roads_Harbor_and_Hampton_Roads_Metropolitan_Area.3F. Thanks, ErikHaugen (talk) 20:13, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that it is not acceptable to move an article to a new title by copying and pasting its content, as you did with Hampton Roads and Hampton Roads (harbor), as doing so loses the editing history. This history must be kept for copyright reasons. Normally it is possible to move a page by using the "move" link. Sometimes this is not possible, commonly because there is already a page with the title you want to move to. In this case you can ask for an administrator to make the move by tagging the destination page with {{db-move|page to be moved|reason}}. In addition, in this case the move is not uncontroversial, so please do not make similar changes without discussing them on the article's talk page first. Uploading images

[edit]

Please be careful to source images when you upload them. For example, File:DowntownNorfolk2.jpg appears to be a crop of File:DowntownNorfolk.JPG, which was uploaded by a Conk 9 (talk · contribs). This is unacceptable. Please be careful.--GrapedApe (talk) 23:39, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Wells Fargo Center (Norfolk) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Found no evidence that this center there is no evidence that it meets notability guidelines

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Oo7565 (talk) 18:24, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:3pncplaza.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:3pncplaza.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:08, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
