mundaring

There are some pdfs at the department of water website that will greatly expand the helena river and mundaring weir articles - unfortunately too distracted by too wide a focus at the moment - will eventually get around to it! cheers SatuSuro 14:45, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Sure, no problem. The deletion debate was scant, so the consensus wasn't very strong to begin with. Thanks for the heads-up, though. Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 18:11, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Hopiakuta

Hey, hope this finds you well. I'm sure you remember Hopiakuta, the user who seems to be having severe trouble communicating with us. I stumbled upon him after reading through the list of potential adoptees through adopt-a-user, and have apparently become rather entangled in it. Tvoz and I are trying to figure out how to help him, and have met with something of a dead end. It seems he wishes to speak with someone over telephone, but we both feel unqualified. He seems to have connected to you in particular, and we are wondering if you have any input- maybe you know someone at accessibility who could talk to him? We are rather at a loss... Our conversation is going on over at my talk page: User talk:L'Aquatique#Hopiakuta if you want to join in. Thanks in advance! L'Aquatique talktome 06:36, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Rotto blotto

Yes there is indeed a bit of very very old unfinished bits and pieces in there - hope its not too mcuh of a mess - cheers SatuSuro 10:32, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Screen readers

There's an RfC that just started at Talk:Pulp Fiction (film)#RfC: Ellipses relevant to screen readers. I thought you might like to comment, or know how to seek opinions from other blind editors. Thanks. Ward3001 00:09, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

October 2007 newsletter for WikiProject Abandoned Articles

Welcome

The WikiProject welcomes two new members in the past three months:

Progress

The WikiProject is now halfway done, numerically, with the 1000 articles identified in December 2006. The first (oldest) 500 articles have been claimed, reviewed, and (when needed, which was almost all cases) improved. Moreover, given the passage of time, many of articles 501 through 1000 have been worked on by other editors (it's ten months since that list was generated). So reviewing the second half of the 1000 articles should be easier.

A slightly different approach

Section 6 (articles 501 through 600 on the list) has been organized differently than the previous five sections. First, blocks are (roughly) five articles each, rather than 10, making it easier for you to claim and finish a block. Second, perhaps more importantly, each block consists of similar pages; if you're interested in fixing disambiguation pages, there are blocks of those; if you're interested in articles (which is what the project originally started out being), there are blocks of those; and there is one block of lists and one of redirects (mostly redirects to articles). So, fewer surprises this time when you claim a block.

In addition, since the project now has 25 active members (though some are likely inactive), having more blocks will make it easier to spread the editing around.

Inactivating your membership

If you received this newsletter on your user talk page and don't want to receive such postings in the future, please move your name, in the participants section of the WikiProject, to the "Inactive" subsection.

This is confirmation that I am the person who wants to change my username from Pianoman87 to Graham87 on both Meta and the English Wikibooks. Graham87 00:17, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello

As I am not an administrator, I do not know if AN/I is an active page and whether the reports there are monitored frequently. So perhaps I am making an ass of myself by bringing up a topic which you are already familiar with. But your user description says that you are the person to contact about deleted pages.

I am not interested in recreating a page. I am interested in providing documentary evidence of an (in my opinion serious) administrative abuse which is discussed in the AN/I under "Irresponsible Editing of Archimedes Plutonium". The issue itself is discussed there, and I will not repeat it here.

Unfortunately, all evidence of wrongdoing is contained in the history page of the article in question, which was immediately deleted after I placed the notice on AN/I. Leaving a person who is interested in verifying the claim with no recourse. I was hoping that perhaps you could take a little time to verify the claims, and if they are not frivolous in your eyes, perhaps you could put up the disputed page or the history, somewhere where an administrator could look. If this is possible, I would appreciate you telling me so I can fix the links on the AN/I complaint.

I am not an administrator, and I am not a Wiki veteran, so I don't know how to verify if my request is being looked at, or whether people think it is a sensible complaint. I would therefore appreciate feedback, if that is possible and if it is not a violation of etiquette. Thank you in advance.Likebox 00:55, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

If the administrators can see the deleted page, there is no cause for undeletion and I am sorry I wasted your time. But could you fix the links on the AN/I page so that they link to the proper part of the page? Thank you for the information BTW.Likebox 01:04, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. Since it seems people are thinking about this, I will shut up now and go do some work. I appreciate the information.Likebox 01:13, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Actually, no, I don't control that page, and I didn't write the copy. I've asked my editor to see what she can do to get the marketing folks to change it.

Thanks. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 17:21, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
