Replaceable fair use File:TGSpipeline.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TGSpipeline.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:20, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Willie-Nelson-Columbus-Stockade-Blues.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Willie-Nelson-Columbus-Stockade-Blues.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:13, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, GDuwen. I am thinking about working on the George Jones article and expanding it to at least GA status per this discussion. Do you mind if we can work on the article together? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 02:34, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:03, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nice to see some older songs on the GAC; helps counter the major recentism we see in music coverage. Just a quick note to say that the sample in this article is too big- samples need to be 30 seconds or 10% of the song, whichever is shorter, and a max of 64kbps. Guitars

[edit]

So, are you also trying to make people believe Waylon Jennings only had one '53 Telecaster? There are millions of interviews online stating he had many of them! Also, only a blind person won't see differences between his guitars. Go ahead and ask Terry Lankford. I know that guy, and he's the one who made the leather covers for his guitars. These facts about his guitars are important to the people who care about what kinda guitars he played. Removing facts only makes matters worse. TheKnowItAllJerk (talk) 20:12, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Like any musician, he sure had more than one. I took most of the information about the guitar from this source (the relevant part is on the page 113, the source talks about a 1953 Telecaster that the Waylors bought). While I was editing the article I remember reading about that 1950 Broadcaster that he used as a backup guitar (which was sold on that 2009 auction) and had many other guitars, but I decided to only include the information about his signature Tele.
Now, I don't want to make believe he had only one guitar, or to create a confusion about it. At the time I was editing the article, I removed the "facts" or statements that were either unsourced or that the citations didn't meet Wikipedia's standards. I will try to expand the section (I'll add that Terry Lankford carved the leather covers, and add the information about the Broadcaster). By the way, I could use some help with the facts. I'm far from being acknowledgeable when it comes to guitars, and I know that like you, many people really care about those details and I really want to get it right. Thanks for the heads up!--GDuwenTell me! 15:37, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest reading interviews. They have lots of good information. Waylon had three kinda main guitars, which were the Broadcaster, the Telecasters and a Fender Custom Shop Tribute model. There are many pictures of it online, and you can also see him playing it on Help Me Make It Through The Night on YouTube on a video filmed in 1999 or 2000. He played the Broadcaster on "The Lost Outlaw Perfocmance" in 1978. That's also available on YouTube. I remember reading somewhere the Fender Custom Shop Tribute model had Texas Special pickups and a banjo tuning peg on the low E-string. His Telecasters had also Texas Special pickups but some of his guitars had EMG pickups during his later years because he wanted a deeper tone. Fun facts, aren't they? TheKnowItAllJerk (talk) 15:48, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, If you give me some interview links about the guitars published on magazines, books or anything rather than You Tube, I'll be more than glad to include all of that. It's not that I'm ignoring stuff or removing randomly, Wikipedia has a good bunch of policies about using reliable sources. If I ignore them, I'll have somebody filling the article with those "citation needed" things and messages on the talk page about how I need to add citations, etc.--GDuwenTell me! 16:06, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There are some online interviews, but I forgot where to find them. The only one I know right now is http://dkyle21.blogspot.fi/2011/03/at-time-i-interviewed-waylon-jennings.html . It's not an interview, but it has some pictures. I'll try finding more links as soon as I have more time. TheKnowItAllJerk (talk) 17:56, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's good for a start, it's a shame that the link to the entire article on Vintage guitar doesn't work anymore, but we sure can pull out some info from here and the rest from somewhere else as you find the rest of the links.--GDuwenTell me! 19:22, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Villa Regina

[edit]

Hello. I'm AmericanLemming. I recently finished copy-editing your copy-edit request, Villa Regina. There are three things that I want to mention:

1. Please read through the article, as it has gone through a rather extensive copy-edit. If you find that it doesn't say what you want it to say, change it.
2. QatarStarsLeague reviewed your GAN and failed the article because of prose, copyright issues with the pictures, and some statements in the article that lack inline statements.
  • They're shouldn't be any problem with the prose now, or at least I hope so, seeing as I've made 129 edits to the article in the last week.
3. In the process of copy-editing the article, I came up a detailed list of suggested improvements, which can be found on the talk page.

Anyway, I will watch both the article and the talk page and would be happy to continue to copy-edit the article if and when you should make any additional changes. AmericanLemming (talk) 17:44, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hank Williams article

[edit]

I have noticed that you are the major contributor to Hank Williams and are the one who successfully took it to GA. I have "Harverrors.js" on my account, and when I pulled up the article, big red errors appeared everywhere there is a Harvard Reference. You need to have this .js for it to appear. But if you take the article up to Feature Article Candidacy, a reviewer might just bring this up. User:Ucucha/HarvErrors explains it. If you have that installed, any article that has malformed Harvard referencing will show the errors in red, big enough you can't miss them. Copy this on your .js user page, exactly like this:

importScript('User:Ucucha/HarvErrors.js');

Then save. Might I also suggest that if you find articles that have errors like this, the fix is usually something really simple - the inline citation must be able to find its source you have pointed it to. If you have something in the citation that is not in the source, or something in the citation is off like a missing pipe, it throws up an error.

If you don't have a .js user page set up up, you can create User:GDuwen/common.js and put it there. Good luck. — Maile (talk) 19:49, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
