Feedback

[edit]

Hi Frank! I am in Dr. Gregory's capstone class. I have posted my edit to the article Social Media under the section Privacy. Could you give me feedback to the work I have done? If there is anything I have missed or need to do to my edit that could help it improve?

Ready for Review

[edit]

Hi Frank, I am in Dr. Gregory's senior capstone class. I have my content ready, but could you tell me again how to create a page in your sandbox? I messed mine up when someone took my edits off the page. The article I am editing is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reading_(process)

Hi Frank, I am in Dr. Gregory's senior capstone class. I just finished editing my page. Benefits of Music Education. Was hoping you could check it out. I have rearranged, added to and tried to make it coherent. I have let the group know I am editing.(I am afraid I didn't do that early, but it is in) Thanks for your time.HalfwayThrough (talk) 22:08, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'm in Dr. Gregory's Comm Seminar class. I've uploaded the bulk of my content and would love for you to check it out! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Pomphreyhm/Sandbox/Keith_Haring

I've added the Influences section and the section about AIDS Diagnosis. I still have to fix my citations and maybe add photos. Let me know what you think, thanks for all your help!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pomphreyhm (talkcontribs) 16:10, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for volunteering to help with my cognitive psychology class. I've got a list of articles for the students to use to find their topic (not posted in Wikipedia, but I can if you want to see it?). First they write a paper just for class, and then they'll use that to re-write and add to Wikipedia (neutral point of view, etc). I think having someone to ask about Wikipedia style and formatting (in addition to me) will be really helpful. I haven't done much with the talk pages for communicating, is it a good practice to clear them every so often? I notice your's is clean. Greta Munger (talk) 19:36, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A list of the articles would be helpful. As for Wikipedia style formatting, have your students completed the student training? Also, here's some more info on cleaning up your talk page. Frankcjones (talk) 23:55, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

[edit]

Hey there. I noticed you were signed up at Education Program:University of North Georgia/History of Torture (Fall 2013). Have you been able to speak with the professor? Have you been an online ambassador before? I'm a "regional ambassador" (and a campus and an online ambssador), for whatever that's worth!!! We could chat sometime on Skype if you have any questions. I was wondering what your expectations for the semester were. Best! Biosthmors (talk) 20:57, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ha! It would help if I read your user page! Let me know if you wanna share ideas sometime! I'd be interested to meet you! =) Biosthmors (talk) 20:59, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would be happy to share ideas with you and meet up some time. Looking at your user page, it seems you know much more about the Wikipedia community than I do. Frankcjones (talk) 02:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds great. I recommend picking an article and helping it reach GA status. I'd be happy to provide feedback on the article, once you pick it, about how it could be improved to meet the GA status. Let's plan on chatting by Skype sometime next week? Best! Biosthmors (talk) 08:25, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, that edit "fixed" the indentations. =) Best. Biosthmors (talk) 15:31, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Survey for editors who mentor newcomer

[edit]

Dear Wikipedia Ambassador,

I am seeking input on your experience as a mentor to new Wikipedians. This survey is designed to provide insight for the development of a new mentorship support tool on Wikipedia. If you have a moment, please take this survey, it should not take more than 10 minutes of your time to complete.

Also, if you are able to, I would greatly appreciate it if you would send the following survey to the mentee you worked with:

Keep me in the loops for regional Wikipedia events. My main area of interest is establishing notability in the area of Hispanic women authors. Be seeing you. Dorothy Potter Snyder (talk) 00:51, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dorothy, I'm excited to see that you're a Wikipedian as well. Be sure to add your name to the participants and supporters list for the Triangle Wikipedians user group. Also, watch that page for info about upcoming events in our area. I'll let you know when something gets scheduled, if I remember. However, there are other users in our region and we're all using the list on the user group page to notify people when events are scheduled. Frankcjones (talk) 21:08, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello from a new Triangle volunteer/WMF employee.

[edit]

Hello! I wanted to introduce myself because I saw you help run the North Carolina Triangle Wikipedians. I live in Carrboro and would like to find out about future events. (I work at WMF but volunteer as an editor in my off hours.) It's nice to meet you! Melodykramer (talk) 03:40, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Melodykramer

[edit]

Welcome to the Triangle Wikipedians user group. You'll find a list of participants and supporters on that page, please add your name to that list so we all know to ping you with event info. The group is just getting started, but we have been supporting edit-a-thons at UNC and Duke for a few years. Now that these have become regular events for the colleges, I'm working to bring people together in this user group and expand the project beyond a few days of focused effort each year. Since the group is just getting started, feel free to suggest projects and take the initiative to coordinate with others to make them happen. You will find the participants and supporters list is a good place to find people to help with any project you want to initiate. Also, you can see a list of past and future area events on the group page. Frankcjones (talk) 16:41, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

invitation to editathons at UNC

[edit]

Hi! I'm helping to organize two editathons at UNC Sloane Library and was hoping you would want to join us or spread the word. The first is March 25 and our scope will be the immigration system in the US. The second will be on April 1 and the scope will be visual artists of the African Diaspora who have been based in Chapel Hill. Hope you can make it! Thanks --Heathart (talk) 21:09, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking forward to these events

[edit]

Hello Heathart,

As it happens, I will be in the Triangle on 3/25 and 4/1. Thank you for adding these events to the Wikipedians Usergroup page. If you know about any other edit-a-thons happening in the Triangle, please add them to the usergroup page as soon as possible - this will help us get more Wikipedians to attend these events.

Thanks,

Frankcjones (talk) 02:53, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fantastic! Will do! Looking forward.--Heathart (talk) 15:57, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Real-Life Barnstar
In the past ten years as a regional ambassador you've supported at least four classes using Wikipedia as a learning platform while also supporting GLAM and other meetups in your area. This sort of real life work is a necessary component of Wikipedia's outreach efforts. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:07, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
