Orphaned non-free media (Image:Battlepike.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Battlepike.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Gokigenyo, so you haven't readed Rurouni Kenshin yet, it's a great manga. Anyway, thanks for your advice, they really are useful. I have watched a few episodes of Jyu Oh Sei and i have to said, good one, though most of the characters' names resemble of the Norse gods like Thor or Odin.

PS: 1 It's kinda weird of me to ask, but have you ever played Koei's work like Samurai Warriors or Orochi Warriors?

2 And are you still watching Chrono Crusade?

3 Have you ever readed the manga To Love-Ru (it's an ecchi one like Elfen Lied]] and the manhwa Change Guy? OgasawaraSachiko (talk) 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Just a few. Anyway, i'll introduce those two i told you before if you like ^^. Too bad that you've stopped watching CC and haven't readed RK. Here some links to read the manga and download anime (again if you like).

1. To Love Ru:download anime download manga read manga

2. Change Guy: download manga read manga

I hope that i'm not being talkative. OgasawaraSachiko (talk) 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes, thanks, like you said before, i have uploaded more than 100 images since September, i really am an images maniac? OgasawaraSachiko (talk), 14:44 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Elfen Lied

[edit]

This colletonian dude is being total edit nazi... He comes in and acts like he's the one in command, doens't even ask our opinion before stripping images from the pages... I'm gonna keep an eye the page to make sure he doesn't do anything drastic. --Kraftlos (talk) 09:45, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He is making unilateral decisions and talking about his decisions as "we". Who does he think he is? Why is there no discussion? I think it funny that I have to go digging for the MoS, if it was really that important, why isn't he shoving it in our face? --Kraftlos (talk) 18:07, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I later learn that he's a she. Sorry about that.--Kraftlos (talk) 10:10, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You want to argue about it, fine. But stop doing a bad revert that not only adds back the unnecessary stuff you guys like, but is also undoing needed infobox updates after the infobox was updated and removing a very valid copyedit tag. You want to undo it, then at least do it correctly. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 03:34, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Elfen Lied and Collectonian

[edit]

First of all, I believe I have added my comments on the article's talk page, haven't I? Or are you talking about Collectonian's behavior in regards to editing? If you believe it to be disruptive, I'd suggest taking it to WP:AN/I or somewhere similar where you can get a higher party to judge the issue. I've worked with her in the past, and I know very well how stubborn she can be (she already knows I think of her this way, I've told her myself), but the only way to accurately argue with her is with guidelines and policies. She doesn't compromise very much, and likes the other party to explain themselves in full. She is doing what she thinks is best for the article, and you and Kraftlos are doing your part; these actions conflict, which is what the talk page is for. You can always go to WP:RFC or WP:3O for outside opinions, or leave a note at WT:MOS-ANIME or WT:ANIME if you want.-- 07:56, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I won't add the text back in (as we don't need all of it). Go to User:Juhachi/Diclonius for the text, and merge what you can.-- 06:56, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Elfen Lied Delisted

[edit]

Ok, I've been a bit busy the last couple weeks. I'm going to go examine her reasoning on delisting. (I think she was going to do that from the begining). I think it's interesting that there's no debate, no concensus with her. It's just the way she see things is the way things are, and any other way is wrong. It's kind of childish. Anyway, I'll go look at the GA Criteria and see if I can make a case to re-list it. --Kraftlos (talk) 05:24, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think we've met all the GA article criteria except for the fact that it was unbalanced. I wish this person would elaborate more in the reasoning on which specific criteria are not being met; I guess it's our job to read her mind. I'm getting started with the manga right now, so when I've read a volume or two I can go in and try to balance the article. Once it's balanced, I think we can make a case that it has returned GA level. Right now, it's still too focused on the anime. I'd like to point out that GA criteria has nothing to do with conforming to the project's MoS, just the WP:MoS.
So by: 3. Broad in coverage of the topic without unnecessary digressions. AND 5. Stable, with no ongoing edit wars. It's not up to to GA yest. BTW: Were those merges ok? --Kraftlos (talk) 05:37, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You know, you don't have to respond to every comment people make about you.  ;-) It's not as if this is some secret conversation, I know you can read it just as easily as anyone else and made the comment fully knowing that you'd probably see it. --Kraftlos (talk) 07:13, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you believe she acted wrongly, you can always take it to WP:GA/R and get other opinions.-- 07:31, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, I agree with the delisting. I just think the communication could have been better. --Kraftlos (talk) 07:49, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has been a while since my last contact, but you're talking about deletion. Sorry, I haven't been here lately, I have been busy with school lately, so I can only be briefly here on Wednesday and Sunday. About Chrono Crusade template, I asked you create it a while ago, but since the character articles have been deleted, maybe it's not necessary for it anymore. Lately, a large number of character articles have been deleted, including my Beyond the Grave, was it because the lack of references? And have you finished Gungrave? Anyway, thanks for contacting me. OgasawaraSachiko (Talk), 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Glad to know that you have finished Gungrave, your DVD is English dubbed right? About Elfen Lied characters, I see that Lucy/Nyu page have been redirected, too bad. Well, I read novels in both Japanese and English, why did you ask?

PS: Do you like to read and watch Tintin?OgasawaraSachiko (Talk) 11:37, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, sorry for the late answering. Yes, I love Tintin too, I was overjoyed when I know it was an FA like Madlax. Tintin is my best Belgian comics, I have read and watched the series. I also read Asterix and Lucky Luke. Your Gungrave DVD, it was English dubbed right? I wish I know Brandon's voice in English. OgasawaraSachiko (Talk) 5 November 2008 (UTC)

I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Contest update

[edit]

Well, it's just 1 day until the contest begins, so I thought I'd check in with everyone and make sure you're all ready to go. First I'd like everyone to check out the main contest page and read over the rules and the scoring system. If you have any final questions or concerns, make them known on the talk page. Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Contest/History/2009 is the scoreboard that will be updated, you can watchlist it. Check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Contest/Submissions which shows how your submission page should look. Thanks for uploading File:Elfenlied24.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. A-Class opinion needed for British Airways page

[edit]

I've been doing a lot of work on the British Airways page since June 5 2010 to get the page to A-Class from GA-Class but I need two uninvolved editors to say yes or no to the change. You seem to know a lot in this field of commercial aviation so I thought you would probably be best qualified to help me with this. You don't have to do it right away but a quick response would be helpful. The review page is here and I've done all the work outlined by SidewinderX (talk) even though it isn't all scored through. Thanks in advance, Plane Person (talk) 09:40, 2 July 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Metro Manila, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pateros (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175

[edit]

Dear Eternal dragon,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Edsa People Power monument.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 22:50, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
