Renewals

[edit]

Personally I think only remarriages should count. If the couple renew vows, they technically are still married. Conquistador2k6 3 May 2013 08:58 (UTC)

I was gonna start this discussion yesterday, but things got in the way. I don't think vow renewals should be included, as the couple is still married. But couples that got divorced and then remarried (like Karl and Susan) obviously should be included, since that's a new marriage. - JuneGloom Talk 15:29, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, renewal of vows isn't a marriage, they're already married. –anemoneprojectors09:00, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I might be late coming in here - but I also think that renewals should not count.Rain the 1 13:59, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed them. - JuneGloom Talk 15:31, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm probably late to the party and all but I'm Agreed. Renewals should not count unless said couple actually remarry Conquistador2k6 20:09 23 June 2013 (UTC)

You're not late, you started the discussion. - JuneGloom Talk 00:31, 24 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update

[edit]

You haven't updated the marriages list. 110.32.68.46 (talk) 07:42, 21 September 2013 (UTC)Geoffrey Hilliard[reply]

Feel free to update the list.Rain the 1 09:36, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried but it hasn't come out quite right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.32.68.46 (talk) 13:01, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good to see you trying though Geoffrey. Have you found the source to add to the article? To add a source use this template
<ref>{{cite web|last=Author's last name|first=Author's first name|title=Article title|url=Article link|work=Website/Newspaper name|publisher=Website's publisher|accessdate=The date you accessed the article|date=The date the article was published}}</ref>
I hope that helps.Rain the 1 13:14, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just a note to say that I removed Lucas and Vanessa. Their "marriage" isn't legal. Her annulment hadn't come through (as stated on-screen) and they had no celebrant/priest present to marry them. - JuneGloom Talk 16:50, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Matt Turner

[edit]

It was stated on-screen by Georgia that Matt died from blood loss in surgery. He was still alive after being hit by the car. Same with Robbo, he was still alive after being hit and died after a cardiac arrest, caused by a tear in his renal artery (which I probably should have updated, my bad). So, should Matt's cause of death be listed as "run over" or "blood loss"? Maybe it should be "blood loss caused by car accident"? - JuneGloom07 Talk 15:28, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thinking about this some more; I think we should go with what cause of death was explicitly stated on-screen. If we don't know, then we leave it as "run over" (or should that by "hit by car"?), "murdered", "fall", etc. For instance Jill Ramsay was hit by a car, but nothing else was said about why she died, so we leave that as "run over". On the other hand, Guy Cleary was killed by a blow to the head, so we should change "murdered" to that. - JuneGloom07 Talk 16:08, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If he was still alive after the car hit him then no it shouldn't be classed as the cause of death as that's then misleading to other people. It should be what has been explicitly stated on the screen.--5 albert square (talk) 21:43, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
if blood loss was his cause of death who are we to say any different? I have changed to content to reflect the actual cause of death. Being hit by the car did not kill him, bleeding out killed him later, something that happened later. Yes it had a part to play, but it wasn't "the final nail".Rain the 1 21:04, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It was the cause of the blood loss, but seeing as you two seem to run the Neighbours wiki and no other editor is allowed to make a change to it, I suggest you name it as June mentioned above (hit by car) B.Davis2003 (talk) 04:50, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh you might want to log in to hide your IP address. Georgia states that Matt's liver started bleeding out again and he died after losing too much blood in surgery. So the car caused the injury, but did not kill him outright. I opened this discussion to gain a consensus instead of edit warring. If the consensus is to leave it as "run over" then we leave it as that. - JuneGloom07 Talk 01:03, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is what TV Soap said about his death: "The Turner family has been plunged into its worst possible nightmare now that Matt has died in surgery from the critical injuries he sustained in the roadside hit and run." - JuneGloom07 Talk 01:20, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Russel Brennan death

[edit]

Please do not remove Russell's death from this list. He was a character and he was only killed-off as the actor portraying him died last November. As he was a character, he should be on this list. Lasquith (talk) 17:31, 15 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Russell died off-screen. We do not add every character that once appeared and then died off-screen. Just as we don't add a character simply because the actor died and the storyline changed. - JuneGloom07 Talk 23:13, 15 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why though? Really they should. Emmerdale, EastEnders and Corrie have done it. Lasquith (talk) 08:02, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I thought this list featured EVERY death that happened on Neighbours. That's why I added it Lasquith (talk) 08:05, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have re added Russell to the list purely because I believe he should have a place on the list regarding whether he died on screen or off screen. I don't think the list should just include on screen deaths. I personally think the list should include every death that has happened on Neighbours. Please at least take my opinion into account as well as every one else's. It just doesn't feel right to me that the list only includes on screen deaths. If there are any more births, marriages and deaths that have happened on Neighbours off screen, could you please let me know so I can add them? I think every single birth, marriage and death that has ever happened on Neighbours should be included. Lasquith (talk) 14:45, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Neighbours on-screen and off-screen deaths

[edit]

Who thinks that the Neighbours deaths list should include characters who once appeared in the soap, but due to the portrayer's real-life death, have died off-screen. Personally think that every death regardless of whether it was on screen or off screen should be included, but only if the deceased was a character at one or more points during Neighbours' 32 years. Lasquith (talk) 18:15, 18 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ollie Fernez's passing

[edit]

I've added Ollie Fernez onto the list, but I couldn't find a link to the character's article. If you could make the link then that would be appreciated. Also, I couldn't cite it with a reference. Will it be ok being on this list? Lasquith (talk) 17:04, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Shaun Watkins

[edit]

Hi just looking for some advice. Another user (possibly an anon editor) added Shaun to the deaths list. I was wondering if he should be left out the list for the time being and re add him if it is confirmed? WestMidlandsboy2000 (talk) 17:10, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
