Benjamin Franklin Tilley

I noticed that you made a minor formatting update on Benjamin Franklin Tilley and I know that you do a lot of work on WP:GAC. Since there's such a backlog there, would you have any advice for changes that I should make for when it eventually gets looked at for GA? I want to make sure, if I can, that when it does get reviewed by someone, it has a good chance of passing. Thanks! JRP 19:41, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Special note to spamlist users: Apologies for the formatting issues in previous issues. This only recently became a problem due to a change in HTML Tidy; however, I am to blame on this issue. Sorry, and all messages from this one forward should be fine (I hope!) -Ral315

If you're referring to the former stadiums and former names, I researched and found most of the information from the individual teams' websites and histories. I was also able to find some missing information from Wiki that was later confirmed through digging with that information. Hopefully I won't have to list all the references to this info because the list itself could reference it's own page —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pharos04 (talkcontribs) 14:50, 10 April 2007 (UTC).

Hi, I just came across that article and briefly wondered whether it was some elaborate joke. Lunch from 11:47 to 12:32?? What are the reasons for such an absurd timetable? And what do they do on Fridays after 12:31? No lunch? Sorry, but I really don't get it. All the best, <KF> 23:40, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

The article may meet the "good article" criteria for people who already know something about the subject but as school systems in various parts of the world differ greatly some information may be difficult to understand for someone who does know a lot about schools but relatively little about Canada. When do all those activities listed in the text take place? Why does the last period on Fridays end at 12:31 rather than 12:30? (This, I believe, refers to (1)(a) "well written" and "comprehensible".) Best wishes, <KF> 23:59, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

sorry...

Perhaps my stoopidest comment was a bit overstated, but calling L.A. the largest of California's 62 cities over 100,000 is a little redundant. If it is the second largest city (by popultaion) in the U.S., then it is obviously the largest city in the state. Kind of like calling someone 12 feet tall the tallest person out of a group of 3,000 people over 8 feet tall.J. Crocker 03:57, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

I understand your point of view, and it is in fact redundant. However, the little tidbit that remains replaces an entire table. -Phoenix 04:01, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

I've made the lead image a thumb on "List of Batman: The Animated Series episodes", so have your comment been completely addressed, an could take another look at the article? thanks. Gman124 17:30, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm sure it was just a mistake, but try to keep the talk page stuff on the talk page. Cheers, :-D, JHMM13 20:40, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

The suggestion for doing a review was added something like the next day, I pared it down to just one review so as not to be so daunting to newer Wikipedians. Just so you know. I posted this message at that page as well. IvoShandor 09:36, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the pointer on this article. I lost the "was up for deletion" message as I tend to ignore the bio headers, etc. on the talk page. While I don't believe the article should be there, my enthusiasm is not enough to re-list it. But I noticed someone created This Girl (album) to get around the successful deletion of This Girl. I've made some changes to History of Minneapolis, Minnesota, based on your suggestions on the talk page. I expanded the lead section, removed a superfluous sentence at the end of the article, and changed "Interstate Highway" to simply "Interstate". Let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks for reviewing it. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 22:38, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks for completing your review. It helped to cheer me up because I've been in a rather bad mood about Wikipolitics lately, dating back to last week when Kelly Martin gave me a smackdown regarding my response to her comments in an RFA discussion. The only way I can really get some focus back is to work on articles, and the GA completion helps me do that. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 04:03, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Adding info for signpost

i would like to make a note:

Hello, Phoenix2. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Teamflag1.png) was found at the following location: User talk:Phoenix2/Archive1. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 09:39, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:InBa.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:InBa.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:49, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Phoenix, would you mind chiming in with a Keep again? This list unfortunately 9 days later has been renominated for deletion.-BillDeanCarter 22:34, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Surely. --Phoenix 22:35, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Five images you have uploaded - Image:Cma a logo.jpg, Image:Integra.png, Image:Vatsim.gif, Image:ACATango.jpg and Image:Vandrosshits.jpg - lack source information and fair use rationales. Please bring these images in line with WP:NONFREE, otherwise they will be deleted in (a little over) seven days time. MER-C 09:16, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Furthermore, Image:LCI cosmo.JPG (listed at WP:PUI), Image:LCI Art.jpg (listed at WP:PUI) and Image:Teamflag1.jpg are incorrectly tagged, the last one obviously so. Please fix this. MER-C 12:34, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Give me 2 minutes, I'll look into it. Ryan Postlethwaite 20:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
It seams like your nominator added it this morning [1], might I suggest taking it up with them? It's a little unfortunate that you weren't around concerns at the start of your RfA. Ryan Postlethwaite 20:06, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm in class. I got to school. I didn't really have a choice. --Phoenix 20:07, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I understand, as I said, it's unfortunate, as many people jump straight in with opposes at the start and you need to be ready to jump straight back with a reply. As I said, it's certainly something to bring up with your nominator. Ryan Postlethwaite 20:10, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Cma a logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cma a logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 17:04, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Cma a logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cma a logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:04, 16 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 17:04, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Bibliographies

Phoenix2, I've enjoyed your many contributions to Signpost, particularly the one about Featured lists. I would like to bring to your attention an ongoing debate about several bibliographies: one I created called List of the writings of William Monahan, two others created by User:Awadewit called List of works by Joseph Priestley and List of works by Mary Martha Sherwood. It's taking place on the talk pages of WP:LOW and the discussion centers around how to change the guidelines to be more inclusive of bibliographies for writers (and others as well). There has been a lot of discussion (sometimes heated) over deleting these bibliographies or merging them into their main articles. I would like it if you could write a news article at Signpost about the changes once they have or haven't occurred. It's an interesting debate with a lot of good points on either side. You seem to be the perfect Wikipedian for the job because of your interest in Featured lists and Signpost.-BillDeanCarter 22:52, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
