Thank you for uploading File:Ricky_dee_GMAC_Cover_2008_01.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:39, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback to Happysailor

[edit]

Thanks for the very helpful suggestions Happysailor! I will definitely fix this and resubmit it. I am traveling the next couple days for business but will work on this very shortly. I really appreciate your input and assistance.

Question --- Should I or May I resubmit to you or Alpha Quadrant directly or is it better to resubmit as I originally did before. I don't want to cost anyone any additional work if I can help it!

Again thanks for your help!

I'm looking forward to getting this article accepted :-)

Tips on citations

[edit]

Hello, I added a Template:Cite web for the first ([1]) reference so it won't be "all over the place". You may also want to do the same for all the other references you have used in Rick DePiro. Use Template:Cite journal for books or magazines. When you do add one of the citations, you may also want to do this: <ref name=""> add at least two words, for example: <ref name="RS"> at the beginning of the citation ref, when doing so if you have the same URL (website) coming from the same source. When you see other sources coming from the same website, instead of re-adding the citation template reference just simply add the ref name that you used in the beginning of the citation refs for example: <ref name="RS"> but you must add an end, otherwise it won't work, for example: <ref name="RS"/> this will gather all sources coming from the same websites at the bottom of the page, but you have to add them where the sources you have added in the page, so just remove the URLs you added as a source and just simply add the <ref name="RS"/> and it will work! Just use two different words every time you do this for other references that are all coming from a same website. I tried to say this as easy as I can because I didn't get it either from other editors who explained certain things. So if you need any help I can help or tell you more so you can fix and organize those sources. Here are more examples if your still having problems understanding (from ref 1 in the article): <ref name="JAR">{{cite web |url=http://www.jaricrecords.com |title=''JaRicRecords'' official website |author= |date= |work= |publisher=JaRicRecords |accessdate=13 October 2010}}</ref>. Hope that helps. AJona1992 (talk) 01:52, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks AJona!

[edit]

That info really helps! -- its SO great that some nice folks with "REAL Wiki knowledge" are willing to help me with this -- Im learning EVERY day! TWO questions -- (IF ok!)

1 I tried to adjust one link thats now joined with another incorrectly in the Reference section BUT the section doesnt come up for me in the edit page -- it just shows the "categories" WHY?

2 If I want to separate the one ref from the other so they actually pertain to their appropriate references. how do I do that (ie: ref 10 - Freddie Ravel -- has another Ref within it's hyperlink that no longer works by itself)

THANKS Again!! --A&RBoss (talk) 05:16, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's still overcategorization. You can categorize him as American [genre] organists, but having him in just "American organists" is too much since he's also in more than one subcategory of the American organists category. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rick DePiro, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MGM Grand (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Do you have a Conflict of interest in editing the Rick DePiro article? (This involves contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. That someone has a conflict of interest is a description of a situation, not a judgement about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith.) If you do have a conflict of interest, please follow the recommendations at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, including, per WP:COIEDIT, not making further edits to the Rick DePiro article directly; please post on the Rick DePiro talk page what updates/changes you would like to make, and another editor will follow up on them. EddieHugh (talk) 20:22, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Eddie, as I just answered to you on the article page, no I do NOT work for or with Rick DePiro. I am not associated with him in any financial, relative)famuily) friendship or even acquaintance level other than when I met him originally when my company worked on a project he was also working on. He's not my empployer, my friend, my client,, my colleague or ANY thing else directly. I indirectly worked with him and his company years ago BEFORE this article was written. I was an independent Label A&R VP in the Music industry and was in contact personally or through the companies and colleagues I worked for, with literally hundreds of artists directly or indirectly. I met and "worked with" hundreds of Artists from Elton John to Justin Timberlake, Toby Keith, Sting, Madonna etc simply because of a tour or other project at that time, but I cant say I actually know ANY of them or worked for them / with them personally as your concern would fall under. They definitely ALL would say I never worked for them other than as a contractor with events or promotions as with DePiro. Like a caterer for a wedding could say they worked with MANY, so can I but it doesn't mean I can actually call these people my friend, associate or employer. I appreciate your concern and as I explain on the talk section in response to your question, when I wrote this article originally I had no longer ANY affiliation with him directly. He's just an Artist I enjoy. Again, thanks!

A&RBoss (talk) 21:21, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned on that article's talk page, thanks for the clarification. EddieHugh (talk) 22:03, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Rick DePiro has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable, too few sources available. Most of the sources that have been used in this article are self-published, including the albums. I suspect some conflict of interest, but that's a guess.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Request reason:

Hi. Please know I wrote this article many years ago and at that time there were at least some reliable third party sources that proved notablilty of this artist but those links are seemingly no longer there or available. As for the "same issue" I am in the same building as steve2nash but aren't personal friends (Steve is his real name) and we agree on this article. I have not written to hurt, conspire or improperly use any information to alter anything. I am fairly positive that I can further prove the notability of DePiro, who I don't work with personally and am not friends with or in personal contact with and would just like the chance to do so. In learning about how Wikipedia comes about it's decisions, I feel I am learning and am eager to improve my accuracy and viability as an editor and contributor. Please unblock me and let the discussion continue from BOTH sides about the viability of this article. As for the Northridge Earthquake article referenced, we both live in the LA area and were victims of that earthquake. I overheard a comment Steve made at a lunch about his changes to the article and I wanted to weigh in as well. After all there are over 2Million people in the San Fernando Valley alone so it's not like we're in a small town somewhere. The earthquake effected millions of people and we happened to agree with his edit. I really appreciate your time and consideration. Ive never cursed or been profane, unlike many other editors and would hope to at least continue fighting to keep this article for legitimate reasons politely and courteously. Thank you A&RBoss (talk) 21:13, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Sorry, I cannot unlock you. I don't see what this has to do with your block. Per checkuser evidence, you used multiple accounts to stack votes in an AfD. Even if each of these were a different person, combining as you did to oppose the deletion of an article would still be WP:MEAT.-- Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:53, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I don't know who "we" are except me and Steve2nash who ARE different people. I have NEVER been paid to do anything on Wikipedia for ANYONE or ANYTHING and how dare you imply it. It's slander and why do you need to INSULT and lie about me instead of just being FAIR! Paid? Are you kidding? Jesus! What an INSULT! I am being polite on this ATTACK of my article from 9 years ago and you say I was being PAID!>?? Unbelievable! Why do we all WASTE our time for ungrateful people like you? I thought Wikipedia was composed of honest people working hard as a community -- Your insults are NOT nice. I have NO incentive to EVER contribut again. I just don't understand your insults, eddiehugh's insults, VVamanti's insults .. who are you people to be so insulting? This is supposed to be good efforts to bring information to the public. That's all I did and am trying to do. I DON'T appreciate your insults. You are WRONG. This is SO sad. Why do I waste my time for an article about someone I don't even know? I was just interested and trying to help. Getting beat up over and over after 9 years of polite back and forth seems SO unjust. Doesn't ANYONE account for links that simply aren't there anymore? Wow. You're mean.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.
