The 2050 United States Senate election in Pennsylvania was held on November 6, 2050, alongside a presidential election, other elections to the United States Senate in other states, as well as elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. Rapegate Scandal

[edit]

In the primaries Bennet and Smith won their parties nomination's swiftly, both uncontested. Two months after the primaries Smith was leading the polls by +1 according to most pollsters, and all the way up to +3 according to others. A month later a story broke by the Philadelphia Times about Smith's former sex abuse charges he was convicted for in 2030, about 22 years before the election. Smith denied these accusations, but days later created a document that was sent out to the New York Times, in which he told them about the context of the situation, which was quickly turned into a meme, due to it's unprofessional and cocky nature. Smith would continue to ignore reporters if they asked him about the scandal, which was now being called Rapegate.

Senatorial Debate

[edit]

On October 6th, 2050, Bennet and Smith participated in a debate with CBS News Pittsburgh, in where Bennet brought up Rapegate. When he brought it up, Smith started screaming into his muted microphone, and allegedly attempted to break his microphone in a fit of rage.
