A little about me

[edit]

Forgive me for not liking long and complicated userpages. Firstly, Edin is not my name as you might have expected it to be seeing the likes of Bosnian footballing legend Edin Džeko. It is the masculine for "one" (also the indefinite article to be posh!) in Bulgarian, and the word Balgarin simply means "Bulgarian male"! So that is who I am. For the record, my first name is Ivan (pronounced ee-van not eye-van, please!) and everyone is free to call me by this name! (For Bulgarians this would be Ivane because of our vocative case which survives in our tongue. The Bulgarian language has lost many of its inflections which other Slavic languages maintain.)

Some languages

[edit]

Born in Bulgarian capital Sofia (but with family originating from Malko Tarnovo and Dobrich making me an easterner!), I have lived in England since 2010 and I speak three languages: Bulgarian (of course), English, and Dutch (having lived in Utrecht 2007-2008, but it is rusty now). Because of my age, I didn't do a great deal of compulsory Russian thought both my parents and my older siblings all speak Russian. For now, I'll say I have a working knowledge of Russian.

My editing activities

[edit]

These tend to be on a Monday. No special reason, except that I work in a hotel between Tuesdays and Sundays every week and the job/s I do simply don't allow me a great deal of computer access. With 90% of the job involving driving, it makes things even harder! I also work a lot of overtime, well beyond the 40 hours I am required by contract. So Mondays it will mainly have to be until circumstances change.
