Adenium multiflorum

Cultivated variates can have pachycaul stems and a stout, and a swollen basal caudex, while mature wild plants do not have a distinct caudex.
Area of distribution stretches from southeastern Zambia, across Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, to Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the northern areas of KwaZulu-Natal, and also in Swaziland.
Does not flower until 4 to 5 years old usually, unlike Adenium obesum which can flower in 8 to 12 months.
They have large tuberous roots which store water.
Wild Adenium multiflorum will loose all its leaves when flowering.
Is susceptible to root rot, if water logged for too long.
They have an obligatory dormancy during winter.
They shed their leaves in the fall.
pot needs to be able to drain well to prevent root rot for chronic water logged soil.
