Reducing Space

[edit]

I've taken a basic stab and reducing white space and tightening this up and I'd like to see more of that to be honest. It's a large box on a single person and in my opinion it should try to restrict itself to Gerber's primary creations to further simplify things. I'd recommend removing Shanna, Sub-Mariner, Daredevil, Marvel Two-in-One, Mister Miracle and Sensational She-Hulk to start with, as all of those characters and titles have an extremely large amount of history that has nothing to do with Steve Gerber. The template would also be removed from any of those pages that still have it. -Markeer 12:19, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gerber wrote the earliest issues of Shanna and Marvel Two-in-One and was fundamental to their development, particularly of Shanna. --Scottandrewhutchins 20:42, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All right, I'm can see there's an argument regarding Shanna since he (co-)created the character (so will address her second, below), but Marvel Two-in-One was a rotating comic intended from the beginning to be worked on by multiple creators using multiple characters and plots. I applaud Gerber's involvement in that title but it's not really fair to overly focus on Gerber's work on that title over, say, Mark Gruenwald. Many creators have contributed to it, so either all would get credit or none. Just my opinion.
Regarding Shanna, the question becomes whether his work on a character that has also been depicted by many other writers is THE most important work. Often if one had to pick, the creator is that choice certainly. In the case of Shanna, were the 5 issues Gerber did more important to the overall character than, say, the ~50 issues of Ka-Zar in which she was a primary character? I'm flexible about Shanna, but that was more or less why I suggested she be downgraded from the template. Should probably get input from more editors.
I'm a big fan of Gerber's. Heck, I wrote the article on Omega the Unknown. I'm just a bit concerned about this template becoming spam on those articles that have a wealth of creators and history to choose from.-Markeer 21:20, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Counting Shanna's appearances in Daredevil, The Rampaging Hulk, and Marvel Fanfare, I believe he wrote 12 Shanna stories, all early. He made Shanna possibly the first superhero to visit a psychiatrist for therapy. --Scottandrewhutchins 14:33, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why is a German occultist and völkisch group in Munich listed on the Steve Gerber template?

I changed it to a redlinked dab. Frietjes (talk) 17:10, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Alphabetical Order

[edit]

Aren't the characters supposed to be listed in alphabetical order. Fluffyroll11 (talk) 18:28, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
