General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation

Image eligibility:

QPQ: Done.

Overall: Meets criteria on all counts, but I have tweaked a few things in the article during my read through. I'm not too fond of the image, though, and will leave that decision up to the coordinator. SounderBruce 07:01, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

  • Hi, I came by to promote this for July 20, as requested, but the hook is awfully depressing. Would you consider something else? Even saying that Kennedy asked for a black candidate to be included, but he ultimately wasn't, would be negative but not depressing like this hook. Yoninah (talk) 22:34, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
I wanted to counter the idea that being an astronaut was all about the fame, fast cars and groupies. How about:
ALT1: ... that NASA Astronaut Group 3 included Buzz Aldrin (pictured), the second man to set foot on the Moon, and Gene Cernan, the second last?
  • Thanks for explaining your reasoning. OK, I'll promote the original hook. Yoninah (talk) 00:03, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
