debut

[edit]

Shouldn't someone talk about her debut? She's been out for more than a month now.SKS2K6 05:28, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added her debut (and news following her debut). I'm fairly new at this so if there's anything wrong with it please point it out. Thanks =)

For now, it's good. I think it's a bit too much, considering how much she has (or rather, hasn't) done in the industry, but this is all we have.... But it needs tighter references; you can't just link to the homepage. Specific articles, or discussions, are necessary. SKS2K6 23:02, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is Y being promoted?

[edit]

And no offense, but her Korean is not that good. It's about par with Han Kyung's. SKS2K6 00:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is a citation really needed for her speaking Korean?

[edit]

Does it really needed to be cited that she speaks Korean? I looked at the BoA page and there isn't need for one there, so is it really needed there? Also if it's for the accent, it says on her offical site she got work done to make it go away. And I can cite that if need be. (KBS also mentions it as well) 70.127.190.51 02:24, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was fact-tagged because before it said that Zhang spoke Korean fluently/fully. And anything beyond the obvious should be ref'd, so if she got "work done" that can be noted and cited. But if it's something like "she studied Korean while training for SM", I don't think that needs a fact tag as much, cuz that's kinda obvious. SKS2K6 06:21, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added The Lessons She Received on her Accent

[edit]

Ok I added it, (Her work on her accent that she has/had) but I had no idea where to put it, so it's at the top, if someone can find a better place to put it please do. Thanks. ^_^ It's also cited. Also I'm looking for websites to cite the other facts in this article, but since shes so new they are hard to find, and I'm not incredably fluent in Korean or Chinese either.  :( Hey I got an idea, maybe we should just add that under triva? Make a random triva area and put it there, since I really have no other idea of where it would fit. 70.127.190.51 18:41, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nah, keep the Sichuan accent bit there. And anyway, if you made a trivia section it would just get deleted, since "trivia sections are discouraged in Wikipedia". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.219.32.167 (talk) 04:56, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Liyin Zhang or Zhang Liyin?

[edit]

Since this wikipedia entry is in english, shouldn't her name be liyin zhang? in chinese it would be zhang liyin, but since this is in english, it should be liyin zhang. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.219.100.237 (talk) 12:31, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:024600192s150hs9.jpg

[edit]

Image:024600192s150hs9.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

discography

[edit]

Just a note - I moved her discography to Zhang Liyin discography, not zhang liyin discography because I forgot to check the link D= sorry about the confusion. -rairakku (talk) 07:28, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Controversy" section, and why I deleted it

[edit]

I removed the section because to be honest, it wasn't really from a neutral point of view. The "sources" were basically 1) a song list for the concert, and b) a fansite petition...which aren't really reliable sources. I may be in the minority here, but unless it got some sort of significant third-party coverage, this "incident" doesn't really belong in the article. It would be different if the Chinese media made something out of it, but it just looks like Zhang Liyin fans got mad because they felt she was under-represented at the concert and so they made a petition and that was it. It's not really notable. (But if you disagree, feel free to comment here. Or readd.) SKS2K6 (talk) 02:31, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and I only deleted the section regarding the SMTOWN concert. I found out after the fact that the SBS award section was deleted as well. (Not that I endorse it or anything, but that section wasn't sourced either.) SKS2K6 (talk) 02:33, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
