[edit]

I need to share with the world the important fact that this is the first Wikipedia article, ever, to make me laugh out loud. The precise, almost scientific, deadpan analysis of the song lyrics is classic! LeighBCD 20:25, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Video

[edit]

The section on the video states that it is almost 7 minutes long, when it is actually 9 and a half minutes long. The person who wrote this section is obviously referring to the edited cut which is generally aired for time. Also the video won a Grammy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.69.193.44 (talk) 19:33, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Song Heard in Cat Fight Video

[edit]

In this video, the song is heard in the background as the two cats (one a gray and white and another an orange tabby) fight each other.

Chart Performance

[edit]

There seems to be some contradiction about paek chart performance for Canada. Michael Jackson singles discography article says it peaked at #3, while the article here claims it peaked at #1. Can anyone verify which one is correct?

Vandalism

[edit]

I just edited offensive content (which included words like "finger banging" and "foreplay" from the article. While it may be funny, it's obvious vandals are hitting some MJ pages.

Fair use rationale for Image:The Way You Make Me Feel.jpg

[edit]

Image:The Way You Make Me Feel.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:31, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I am copyediting as I go - please revert if I inadvertently change the underlying meaning. I will jot queries below. Casliber (talk · contribs) 19:40, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The prose is a bit repetitive and stilted but I think it is easily fixable and am proceeding to do so.
Thank you very much for doing multiple copy-edits on the article. Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 01:47, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

*In the lead the reception is 'mixed', but in the Critical reception section it is positive. Need to reconcile the two.

  • In the talk section above, there is mention of a longer 9 minute video. Is there any reference discussing this anywhere available which can be discussed and added (if it exists)?
The only music video I've seen that has been posted by reliable sources (the official Youtube account for Jackson) shows a 6:44 length music video. The IP user who stated that it was 9 minutes long was incorrect. Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 01:47, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, just checking. Casliber (talk · contribs) 03:50, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • There isn't much about the lyrics and meaning at all - is there anywhere Jackson discussed his feelings about writing the song anywhere (like in a biography or interview or something)?
I have not been able to find any reliable sources stating that Jackson commented on the song. He did not make any mention of the song in things such as his 1988 biography Moonwalk or mention the song in interviews. Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 01:58, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I find that surprising really. I will try and look into it. Stuff it, I wouldn't know where to start...I'll take your word for it if you have the biography... Casliber (talk · contribs) 03:50, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tatiana Thumbtzen doesn't have a dedicated article — why?

[edit]

I'm surprised that Tatiana Thumbtzen doesn't have a dedicated article on Wikipedia (I added a link, which seemed to point to a separate article, but then realised that it was redirected to a sub-section of the TWYMMF article), while every single song from Michael Jackson does have one. Is she less notable than the Star Wars Kid, or any number of porn actresses from the 1980s who have a dedicated article?--Abolibibelot (talk) 08:27, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
