Not bloody likely. The name of the creature inspired the name of the large number and the large number inspired the name of the company. It's that simple, and well documented. --BjKa (talk) 13:19, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find any evidence for VCV's 'Google' inspiring the informal maths term. At the time of googol's coining, 'The Google Book' only existed as a run of 100 books, so the likelihood that it inspired anything much until its reissue in 1931 is pretty unlikely.
