Page suggestions for splitting up the article

[edit]

I suggest the following pages be created:

  • Senran Kagura [general article about the series with character bios]
  • Senran Kagura Burst
  • Senran Kagura Shinovi Vs
  • Senran Kagura (anime)
  • Senran Kagura (manga)

Any other suggestions? Jotamide (talk) 04:41, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Shinovi Versus can probably have its own article, since it's a different game from Senran Kagura/Burst with its own mechanics. A character article would probably also be handy given the number of them. I don't think seperate articles for anime and manga are neccessary since a) the majority of them are adaptations of the game's story and b) we already have an episode list article for the anime. Wonchop (talk) 11:31, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As for whether it needs a franchise article, that's probably debateable since the only other game is a social network smartphone game (Skirting Shadows and Burst would count as one game, since Burst is an enhanced remake of the first). Wonchop (talk) 11:40, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment:: I think probably Burst, Shinovi VS and even Skirting could have independent articles, but anime and manga content should be in general article, to avoid unnecessary fragmentation of content, that currently is not sufficient to create complete articles of each one, if not would be stubs. That is, the general article would talk about the VG series overall and would mention "brushstrokes" about each VG, anime and manga, and then we would have articles of each VG. --Zerabat (talk) 13:57, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think that Burst is definitely notable for its own article now, especially as it is released in the west. So I'd be in support of a Burst / Skirting Shadows article, and I guess also a separate article for Shinovi VS as well. To me, it would make sense to have anime and manga together as a seperate article which also contains the episode list, and then have a separate list of characters. A main series article should be kept, but it definitely needs to be split up, because even the infobox feels too long and confusing! (hopefully my comments made sense somewhat!) So, something like this?
  • Senran Kagura [general article about the series with character bios]
  • Senran Kagura Burst
  • Senran Kagura Shinovi Vs
  • Senran Kagura (media) [anime + manga]
Jotamide (talk) 02:03, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think that that would be a good way to go! DarkToonLink 05:54, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think, considering we have an episode article for the anime, manga should just be listed in either the franchise article, or whatever game it is adapting from. Wonchop (talk) 18:42, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So, whatever happened to this proposal? I think it should go ahead, with these articles:
  • Senran Kagura - an overall article about the series, including games that don't have their own article, and other media and information
  • Senran Kagura Burst - information about that game, which will also cover Skirting Shadows' Japanese release
  • Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus - as a separate game, it could probably do with its own article
  • List of Senran Kagura Episodes - deals specifically with the anime plot and characters
Thoughts? DarkToonLink 08:56, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds alright. --benlisquareTCE 10:24, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are new games now. --AggressiveNavel (talk) 06:09, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There are. I was thinking of writing an Estival Versus article, but I haven't got some relevant content according to WP:VG/GL (Specifically, I have some reception, but almost nothing on development.) Abzol (talk) 13:01, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
At this point I would oppose separate articles unless you can show that they are notable enough to be stand alone. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 22:53, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, each article on the individual games should be able to meet WP:N. Otherwise, they will eventually be merged back into the main article. Also, splitting the article at this point is premature. There is not enough content to justify a split. —Farix (t | c) 15:20, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need anything on development at all to make an article, most game articles don't have it. Notability is any kind of independent coverage. Masses of readers are evidently interested in learning details of Estival Versus, and hundreds of people every day now are disappointed to find so little (most people will probably want gameplay info and plot recap, in addition to release dates and such; also, probably some JP reviews as to jut know is this game good). Same for Senran Kagura 2 too obviously. --AggressiveNavel (talk) 18:04, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A section commented out?

[edit]

Why has the section headed "New Wave Characters" been commented out? I edited it for grammar and wording, but I left the comment tags as they were. rowley (talk) 21:01, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

They were originally in a separate list that was deleted via AfD. I salvaged it and commented out what I thought were the less prominent characters. Ideally, this article would be split properly and the extra character lists can be housed at their respective game articles. —Xezbeth (talk) 07:13, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Missing characters?

[edit]

Why isn't Ayame listed? She's playable and has her own side story in Estival Versus. Plus, she's run the in-game shop since Shinobi Versus. I think she deserves a bio, she's clearly a SK character, its also noted that she's part of Hanzo Academy. Naraku and Kagura got bios. I understand that the DOA character (whose name currently escapes me) is not truly part of the series, but Ayame certainly is... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.134.228.151 (talk) 01:25, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Senran Kagura: Origins.

[edit]

Hope there will be a Senran Kagura: Origins and the game is a prequel. Michael Delaughter (talk) 19:38, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
