Removed link to the picture of a particular teacher.

Removed all of the material quoted below.

Reasons: Rinpoche is a general term of respect used in a context of tibetan culture. It should not be made into a more exclusive term in any one instance of use. The article should explain the term and some use. Particular use instances should forward to their respective pages. Sherabgyatso (talk) 00:14, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Material removed:

Kang Rinpoche is the Tibetan name of Mount Kailash, sacred to Bön, Hinduism and Jainism as well as Buddhism. Kang Ri is a Tibetan expression for "snow peak" analogous to alp or himal.

Guru Rinpoche refers to Padmasambhava, the "Second Buddha", who brought Tantric Buddhism to Tibet.

Je Rinpoche refers to Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug School.

In film

[edit]

The documentary films The Reincarnation of Khensur Rinpoche (1992)[1] and Unmistaken Child (2008)[2] document the lengthy procedure of searching for and finding the reincarnation, or tulku, of a Tibetan lama.

The documentary films Tulku (2009)[3] and My Reincarnation (2010)[4] document the existence and struggles of Tibetan Buddhist masters who have reincarnated in the West.
