I'll review this article shortly. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 15:21, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the issues I found:

  • I'm not sold on Baseball Library as a reliable source, but the person who wrote this bio does seem legit, so I won't worry about it.
  • For completion's sake, I would like ISBNs for all the book sources including the ones linked with Google.
  • Done.
  • Anything on what he did in 1876? I'm guessing not but thought I'd ask.
  • No, I couldn't find any statistics or news on him for that season.
  • "Shafer was one of the best hitters in the UA." I'd move this sentence down and try to combine it with the sentence with the stats, to make it a bit more clear.
  • Done.
  • Bill James' source looks like it may have some extra info to add besides simply the rank. If you don't have it I could look through it to see if there's anything.
  • I have the source; James actually doesn't write much about Shafer in this book.

I'll put the article on hold and will pass it when the issues are fixed. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 21:39, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think I've just taken care of these issues. - PM800 (talk) 23:12, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. Last thing I would note is that if Google Books is showing only a snippet view or no text view at all, then there's no reason to include the URL for it. I saw that in one instance, but it's not a GA concern, just a personal nitpick. Since everything else is fine, I'll pass the article. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 02:35, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
