recent gene interview

[edit]

in a very recent gene interview with entertainment tonight he stated that the release date would be spring 2012. thats why i changed it.

[edit]

I would be thankful if someone could find interviews where Paul commented the album art, Gene commented song titles, info on Kissology, and release date for Monster. Just send me the links if you can(but not from fan sites). Thanks :) Zrinschchuck (talk page) 23:18 November 5, 2011

This is a debate that has been going on for as long as the End of the Road World Tour which is the band's final tour has been going. It's been going back and forth between edits on the article that it is or isn't the final studio album for Kiss. There are recent sources that both Simmons and Stanley have stated that there is no need for the band to record another studio album and it has been ten years since the studio album Monster was released. So I'm open to debate here so it does not continue going back-and-forth and to prevent edit warring on the article regarding if it is the final studio album or not. If you think it is the final studio album or not, please add your reason here as well as your statement on if it is or isn't the final studio album. I think the last paragraph in the opening article stating that it is likely their last album is enough and “twentieth and likely final album” should not be in the first sentence. It should be reverted to simply “twentieth album” until it is confirmed either by a definitive statement from the band or by their disbandment. From a few of the recent references in the year 2022, Stanley and Simmons have hinted that there are no plans to write anymore music for Kiss:
  • "Paul Stanley Explains Why He Doesn't Want to Write New Kiss Music: 'It Can Never Compete with the Past'".
  • Schaffner, Lauryn (May 28, 2022). "Gene Simmons - KISS Are Retiring Out of Self-Respect + Love for Their Fans". Loudwire.
The band haven't announced their final show yet, so it is all speculation, even if the band are saying that it is the final tour. To reach a compromise, I think once there are a few or multiple independent reliable sources showing when the band's final show is, then I believe "twentieth and final" should be added in the first sentence. The band have not made any mention about a new studio album following the references for the interviews I added back in the end of 2022. Also, the band have announced their final shows here:
Needless to say, with no mention of any other studio album in works, this is past even "most likely". I'd say it is the final studio album, whether anyone agrees or disagrees. HorrorLover555 (talk) 16:14, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
