Dam article merge

[edit]

The five articles for each of the dams are a little short; I think it would be better were they merged into this article. Also, information on costruction could be merged into Dry dam. If no one objects, I'll go ahead and execute the merge this weekend. WildWeathel 01:03, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think brevity by itself should be the sole criteria by which a standalone article is judged, but in this case, I have to agree that merging the five dams into the main article is a "dam" good idea.David 15:15, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, length is not the only reson for merging articles. For the record, I think these five articles should be merged here and into "Dry dam" because they are short, have not been expanded since the original contribution, and because of overlapping descriptions of the construction of dry dams. The merging how-to states that articles should be merged "if a page is very short and cannot or should not be expanded terribly much". Since the articles haven't been expanded since August 2004, these articles should be merged. Besides, the article can always be split if it grows later. Thanks for the encouragement; this is my first edit beyond spot fixes. WildWeathel 17:26, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
