Formal request has been received to merge Member of Provincial Parliament (Canada) and Member of Provincial Parliament (Western Cape) into Member of Provincial Parliament and remove this as a dab page; dated: April 6, 2022. Proposer's rationale: The two articles are about the title/style MPP, not about the jobs themselves. Generally titles/stylings repeatedly used internationally share an article, e.g. Majesty, The Right Honourable. Also resolves the stub problem of the Western Cape article. Discuss here. Oppose The article could (and should) reasonably cover more than the title/stylings (possibly after a move - but anyways: there's certainly enough content to have separate articles about Member of Parliament (United Kingdom) and Member of Parliament (Canada), and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if there was sufficient distinction to have separate pages about members of provincial legislatures that are similarly thousands of kilometers away). Oppose per RandomCanadian's argument. We can definitely flesh the Canadian article out more, in line with Member of Provincial Parliament (Canada). If anything, I would recommend starting a discussion to merge Member of Provincial Parliament (Western Cape) into Western Cape Provincial Parliament. Member of Provincial Parliament (Western Cape) has no substance and its current content doesn't really warrant a standalone article. RoyalObserver (talk) 14:32, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
