Actually, no she wasn't. Her birth was first announced in the local newspaper in 1969, which means that is the year she was born, contrary to any date mentioned elsewhere.

RIP Mariah Carey: Few could forget Mariah Carey's painful New Year's Rockin' Eve performance on December 31, 2016, when a cold and confused Carey stumbled through some lip-syncing and eventually just gave up in the middle of a performance. She later blamed the whole mess on the show's producers. A week later, someone updated Carey's Wikipedia entry to declare her dead from embarrassment. Deceased. No more.

Does the "list" we have in the lead seem overzealous or superfluous to anyone else? It seems to be a dynamic list as she has MANY high charting songs (19 number-one songs, 28 top-ten songs, etc.). I feel like there would have to be a "line" to draw so to speak on what we include, however, as per Wikipedia:WikiProject Lists, a dynamic list is "intentionally inexhaustive, as they are only meant to list notable examples from a given category". As Carey's list would include 19+ songs, would it not be better to just mention "One Sweet Day" and "We Belong Together" as top songs of the 90's and 00's decade? What are everyone else's thoughts?
