There's quite an important genre of 'maggot' in 17thC music, where a) someone, I forget who, says it's a tune that you can't get out of your head, eating its way into your brain like a maggot in an apple; and b) given as part of the title of a tune or dance, like Mr. Beveridge's Maggot (Pride & Prejudice film 1995), Jack's Maggot, Draper's Maggot
