Ties to Hamas

[edit]

During a 2024Sept22 show, macklemore said "fuck america" to a crowd of Hamas supporters https://www.billboard.com/music/rb-hip-hop/macklemore-hinds-hall-2-f-america-chant-seattle-show-1235781597/ https://nypost.com/2024/09/22/entertainment/macklemore-chants-f-k-america-to-cheers-at-concert-benefiting-hamas-connected-un-agency/

The concert was to fund hamas-affiliated group UNRWA. https://apnews.com/article/israel-hamas-gaza-unrwa-4132812d15758c3b53b4059cbd2066d6 https://www.timesofisrael.com/un-agency-no-longer-employing-gaza-staffer-accused-of-hamas-ties/

This must be added to the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.57.55.50 (talk) 16:34, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The incident has been added. Your biased framing of a UN agency as "Hamas-affiliated" has not. Note: as per WP:NYPOST, the New York Post is generally unreliable for factual reporting.
Also note that UNRWA promptly fired all twelve of the individuals named in the report by Israel. Zorblin (talk) 07:39, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Source of Commissions

[edit]

This band adheres to a last name. That is all this article keeps referring to (Mclemore). It is a last name to an actual family and I repeat, this is just a band called Macklemore, actually the spelling is Macklamore (band!)

Uhh this is ridiculous

[edit]

How come “Thrift Shop”, his by far most famous song and is the reason why he is known, not mentioned at all in the “career 2009-2017” section?? 199.36.244.24 (talk) 02:53, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I also found it super bizarre not to see anything about it. Very strange ommission. Still nothing a year later. Maybe next year. 2A01:112F:4204:7900:E044:CEA2:EE21:11EE (talk) 18:17, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hind's hall

[edit]

Would it be possible for someone to add the mention of his new single "Hind's Hall"? The page without it seems already outdated Josec.fernandez (talk) 06:14, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What does "Macklemore" mean or where does it come from? 2003:CC:374B:6043:9762:8A76:5403:EB13 (talk) 18:53, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Claims of Antisemitism

[edit]

I think that the claims that Macklemore is antisemitic (e.g. Hind’s Hall and Macklemore dressing up as a Jew) whether or not he actually is, should be included. Can someone please add it?

Here is a news article from CNN referencing the controversies: https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/05/08/us/macklemore-hinds-hall-song-palestinian-protests-cec 71.179.129.209 (talk) 01:47, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Macklemore is accused of being an anti-semite. He has performed in stereotypical Jewish clothes with exaggerated features. https://stopantisemitism.org/as-week/macklemore/ Gcappello124 (talk) 17:16, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 17:27, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Controversies

[edit]

Following recent controversies, which negatively add up on last decade’s [redacted] behavior, I suggest these to be included. 87.120.102.87 (talk) 23:13, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide links to the reliable sources that have covered the events in question. Without solid sources, we really can't even mention specifics on the talk page, per WP:BLP. —C.Fred (talk) 23:29, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Should we add something about his ties with Stockton Rush?

[edit]

I recently learned that Macklemore was involved with Stockton Rush (& OceanGate?) in or around 2014. I was surprised to see nothing about this on either of their wikipedia pages. Seems like an intriguing lead—what do you guys think? Madaman333 (talk) 00:10, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
