Conflict of Interest

[edit]

I thought it was silly to have a "Controversy" section and not include what some perceive to be a conflict of interest for ESPN to have such an enormous financial stake in one school. I added the section on the COI and feel that it is from a fairly neutral POV. — Alex—talk 01:20, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Still trying to find the source, but the main controversy actually came from one of the heads of the network openly bragging in July of 2011 that (paraphrased) "We're going to only televise high school games with Longhorn commits...even out of state ones. Then he actually named Connor Wood (commit from Arizona) by name as an example, which was clearly an NCAA violation had he been "affiliated with the athletic department". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.181.210.25 (talk) 13:51, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
