Above undated message substituted from Template:Dashboard.wikiedu.org assignment by PrimeBOT (talk) 00:34, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Since someone didn't start a discussion on it but placed the template on the page. It seems that someone is wanting to move all contents of this article to Major League Baseball instant replay but I am strongly opposed to that idea as this article focuses on The Rule in World Baseball Classic along with Major League Baseball and would violate the World View Guideline and because the fact the WBC is not the MLB it would mess up the factual accuracy of the subject at hand! However if the merger discussion is the other way of merging Major League Baseball instant replay to this article then I would be Strongly For Merging From Major League Baseball instant replay to here as the current article there is just a stub and it mostly overlaps this article already so there's no article size concern there. The overlap of the rule between the WBC and MLB are virtually the same thing already. I will get into contact with the person that placed the templates and see what that person has to say about the merger. Sawblade5 (talk to me | my wiki life) 06:38, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Its a no-brainer. Merge the articles. It doesn't matter which is merged in to which.--Jojhutton (talk) 21:31, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do we need to record every instance of instant replay being used?

[edit]

It seems like minutiae to list every single case. An overview (X reviews, Y overturned) might be better. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:43, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Let's get rid of the unsourced instances. Significant instances (first time used, first time overturned, first protest denied, etc.) should stay. RefereeOrganist (talk) 23:39, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have all of the plays that have been reviewed by MLB. I was working on a project for a class and I got a spreadsheet of all of the plays that have been reviewed so far. I have the date/game/inning/batter/pitcher/umpire that reviewed the call. They event gave me the time it took the official to review the play. It also included if the play of overturned or not. If you want I could work on uploading the information, but may be some work moving forward to get the information. Thoughts? Kossmatt (talk) 17:47, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the effort, but I'd be concerned about violating the rule on WP:SYNTHESIS. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:53, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, is there anything online sourcing plays that have been reviewed? Kossmatt (talk) 18:00, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the text of the rule?

[edit]

Where can one find the text of the instant replay rules for MLB? I would think they would be cited in this article. Ron Schnell 20:01, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Update Template

[edit]

I added an update template to the "Controversy" section. The section talks about the controversy of replay only being used for home run calls, but as of the 2014 season, instant replay can be used for many other calls. Hatmatbbat10Talk to me 20:15, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article needs to be updated with the new replay rules. They can be found at http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/official_rules/replay_review.jsp — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stiche1775 (talkcontribs) 14:40, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
