How can I improve to B-class articles?

[edit]

After (I thought) doing better work creating and filling in this article, it has still been rated C-class. As I understand it, C-class articles have organizational issues, they're too short, and they have editing and citation issues. I want to learn how to do better, but my articles aren't consistently rising to B-level. To @Ipigott: or anyone else who would care to assist, what did I miss here? I don't want to seem like a grade-grubber (I work in academia and loathe that, because it's all about complaining and not about improvement), so I'm not asking for a re-assessment. I'd just like to know what I need to know to start getting it more consistently right. Thank you! (Here are the documents I used to understand what c-class and b-class are: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Content_assessment/C-Class_criteria https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Content_assessment/B-Class_criteria).
