Please feel free to expand/correct this article at will. The problems that need to be resolved first are in verification of facts (including Hamparsum Efendi's status as chief musician of the Armenian Church), the Armenian-alphabet spelling of the name Limondjian, and any other sources and references that can be useful. There isn't a whole lot on the net in English.

I did find this post on NoteWorthy Software's forum by Ertuğrul İnanc, which also discusses other ways to notate microtonal music (I'd like to make some Wikipedia articles on some of these, or add to existing ones).

Also, the Turkish-language Wikipedia article was ganked from the Hamparsum.net homepage. I think something more original needs to replace it. I don't read/write/speak very much Turkish, so I'll let someone else handle that. LudwigVan 10:48, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
