Previous bridge

[edit]

I found an image on WGBY's web site from the 1936 flood which shows a bridge in the same location as the current one, but which is CLEARLY not the current bridge. For verification, the Norwottuck Rail Trail Bridge is clearly below it in the image. Does anyone know anything about this older bridge? I assume it was destroyed or heavily damaged in the flood, necessitating replacement by the following year with the current bridge, but all I know of it is in this image. - Denimadept (talk) 15:06, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was damaged and taken down and because of road traffic and the start of Route 9 in the 30s and people trying to get from Northampton to Amherst, so even if it wasn't damaged it would still have to be replaced with the current one B-Movie Fan (talk) 21:52, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
