Biometric Hype

[edit]

Just removed a section on PA consulting, where they are quoted as saying "Biometric is mostly hype". If you read their article, that isn't what they are saying ... they seem to be saying there is a high level of hype around the technology without implying that the hype is somehow substituting or disguising reality.

Personally I'd say biometrics is "mostly hype", but the reports and research relevant to this article don't say that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.126.160.111 (talk) 14:37, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The graphic PA Consulting include at p.3 of their paper seems to suggest that biometrics is travelling the "innovation highway" on a journey from innovation to obsolescence along which it is fuelled mostly by hype. I have therefore re-inserted the text 2.126.160.111 removed and added the graphic – PA Consulting's own graphic – to support the re-inserted text.Brother Big (talk) 08:52, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality tag

[edit]

This is a developing story about a dispute between two public figures. Even though details of both sides of the story have been published in the press, our article only sets out one of those.--FormerIP (talk) 00:08, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What about creating an article for the issue - like - 2011 Border control pilot scheme - or - 20011 border control dispute - and redirecting this living person there. Off2riorob (talk) 00:14, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agree that that would be a good idea. Even though it doesn't apply, I think that WP:CRIME is a good guide for this case. --FormerIP (talk) 00:40, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

PatrickOfLondon, thank you for posting those latest links to BBC and Telegraph articles about the settlement between the Home Office and Brodie Clark -- http://www.dmossesq.com/2012/03/brodie-clark-has-been-silenced-several.html Brother Big (talk) 15:33, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article is not a biography

[edit]

It's supposed to be a biography, but right now it isn't: the sections 'biometric checks' and 'warnings index' contain a large amount of information that isn't about Clark at all. This material should really be split off into a separate article (something like Technology of the UK Border Agency, perhaps), because it doesn't belong in this one.
