Name issues

[edit]

I don't know who is doing this but someone without an id is constantly trying to revert my edit. I'm doing a favour by putting his full name but somehow 86.12.235.77 doesn't want that to happen without giving a plausible reason.--Daffy123 (talk) 06:49, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I am new to wikipedia and am just trying to change my name as it is not right (a clerical error from years ago when my college gave me my father's middle name). It is actually no longer on the college website as I have asked them to take it down. Please could you take it out now that I have explained? --86.12.235.77 (talk) 16:37, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Voted against EU membership" misleading

[edit]

Based on a verdict automatically generated by "theyworkforyou.com", it is claimed in this article that Mr. Afolami has generally voted against EU membership. As he voted "Remain" in the 2016 referendum and has only been voting in parliament since 2017, this seems a little misleading to me. This result has been generated simply because he has been voting with the Conservative Party most of the time. Given the party line, his voting record actually suggests that he is more likely to be pro-EU membership (as you would expect). OldCause (talk) 21:49, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Citation for work history not correct.

[edit]

The citation for Bim's work as an HSBC executive contained no reference to HSBC and so I have removed it. Rzcl (talk) 11:48, 20 April 2022 (UTC) Rzcl[reply]

Yes, but it mentioned his work with Freshfields, and is therefore required to support that claim. SSSB (talk) 19:04, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Behaviour of father

[edit]

Is it appropriate to document the dishonesty of Mr Afolami's father in a short biographical article which is about the Member of Parliament and not about his doctor father? Perhaps others more knowledgeable about Wikipedia than I am can comment. I just felt uneasy about this. --PeterR2 (talk) 13:48, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My view is that if it isn't relevant to Afolami's career (the MP's career, not the father's), it isn't relevant to his biography. SSSB (talk) 13:58, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
