Discussion

[edit]

Is there also a tennisplayer with this name (4th round French Open 1999) 1999 French Open - Women's Singles

Google lists several women named Barbara Schwartz. The artist herself may be notable, but a superficial search is proving difficult. There seems to be no online bio of the artist. The one online gallery hints at notability and one review. We should avoid deleting until more info can be found. Freshacconci 17:10, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added a link to an online review as a starting point. I've never heard of the "Pattern and Decoration" movement. Any ideas out there as to what this refers to? Her work seems more to be related to Geometric Abstraction. Freshacconci 17:15, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Identity warning

[edit]

Do not confuse with Eugene and Barbara Schwartz, who are collectors and, as far as I can make out, are not to do with the subject of this article. Tyrenius 18:45, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, two separate and distinct Barbara Schwartz's. The artist tragically died, and Barbara who was married to Gene is still alive. Modernist 23:52, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. However, I don't think an article sourced only by obituaries is really about a notable person. I'm not going to do anything since the article certainly does no harm as it is. Steve Dufour 02:14, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ambiguity

[edit]

There are plenty of tennis-related articles pointing to this page as it would be about the former Austrian professional tennis player (see her profile on the official WTA-Tour site). I'm not an experienced user but would suggest either to move this page given an appendix " (artist)" or to divert all erroneous links to the non-existent page "Barbara Schwartz (tennis player)". It's probably always a good idea to give a hint on their profession when creating a page named after a person as this encyclopedia is intended to last for some 100 years (as I read). There are some remarks above also touching this issue. HTurtle 22:36, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Disambiguation page now created. Tyrenius (talk) 17:07, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
