Multiple Barbara Langs

[edit]

The subject is a film actress. She never did any theatre work. OTRS 2013090210016279 has it on record that Actors Equity has a member Barbara Lang who joined in 1960 and has done many plays in the theatre, and is still alive. Barbara Lang the film actress, who passed away in 1982, was never a member of the organisation.

I am therefore removing all theatre work from the article. The OTRS ticket also has scans of many contracts done by the theatre actress, and I think I'll add a disambiguation to the title to show film work.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:41, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

These two actresses' info has gotten conflated on the Internet in multiple sources. I finally found some pics of the stage actress/singer/sometimes brunette/sometimes blonde Barbara Lang at the Masterworks recording company's website in the Photos sections of 1962 "Anything Goes!" Broadway Revival page, Original production of "A Little Night Music" in 1973 and elsewhere listed at Masterworks. Definitely not the same person. Shearonink (talk) 20:04, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Correct - I've scans of those two theatre contracts at OTRS. Maybe someone needs to start a Barbara Lang (theatre actress) page...  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:21, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Barbara Lang (film actress)Barbara Lang – There are no other people named "Barbara Lang". Christiancardenas732 (talk) 14:21, 25 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Barbara Lang (Broadway actress) is different and very much alive - that's how I managed to sort out the page, because she contacted me about the in correctness of the article at OTRS 2013090210016279 (and she likes a chat...), and she has just sent me an e-mail today, because she found her "own" page! - as to whether this other page is substantial enough to become the primary page - I'll happy to leave that up to the community - it will certainly need a hatnote anyway (I'll add one), and we don't do disambiguation pages where there are only two articles involved. User:Ronhjones, thank you - yes, you clearly are right. Personally I think that since Broadway and film have different reader catchment areas, and there having been muddle in the past the (film actress) precision should stay. We do actually now do WP:TWODABS, see the guideline. In ictu oculi (talk) 20:28, 25 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:TWODABS - Even as an admin, you learn something (that's changed) every day... You are probably correct - and there are only two refs in this article anyway, it really doesn't make it head and shoulders above the other one. Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:47, 25 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
