[edit]

I've reverted the good faith changes that doubled the length of the article made by IP 86.188.144.242 in this edit for the following reasons:

  • Possible WP:COPYVIO -- the added text reads like it has been cut and pasted from promotional material from the Art Fund, especially in its use of "we/us" when refering to the Art Fund, and "you" refering to the reader. Nevertheless, the only sentence that is clearly derived from elsewhere is "The Art Fund helps museums and galleries all across the UK to buy, show and share great art so that it can be experienced and enjoyed by everyone" in the lede, which is very close to "The Art Fund is the national fundraising charity, helping UK museums and galleries to buy, show and share art"
  • The inserted material is overly promotional in tone, particularly with respect to the National Art Pass
  • The inserted material is entirely unsourced
  • The edits have deleted all images that were previously in the article

Much of the added material is interesting and could be used in this article if it were sourced and rewritten to avoid the promotional tone and we/you pronouns, but as it stands I think it better to remove it first. BabelStone (talk) 21:16, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I work for Art Fund and wondered if you could please remove the 'The' from the page title. We haven't used 'The' in our official title for many years now and more recently we also removed the use of the 'the' in running copy too. So it is very out of date! Please see our most recent annual report for confirmation of usage [1] Writer editor 555 (talk) 09:20, 15 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
