France population figure

[edit]

Cookiemonster1618 and Skitash, you've both recently reverted Khojasaheb's edits to the infobox population figure for Algerians in France, without explanation in your edit summaries. The figure of 1,637,000 that Khojasaheb added is supported by the source they cited, whereas the three reference links next to the 5,000,000 figure don't take me to pages that support it. You might have been reverting because of other aspects of Khojasaheb's changes, but the change in the population figure seems sensible to me. That source is for migrants only its not for permanent residents, that's why I reverted their edits. Cookiemonster1618 (talk) 18:58, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Did you verify the 5,000,000 figure when restoring it? Cordless Larry (talk) 19:06, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No I did not but most other sources mentioned there were 1.3 million Algerians in France according to the 2008 census. Thats not the issue because now there is continued vandalism on this article with another IP address renaming disambiguation links. Cookiemonster1618 (talk) 21:10, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop restoring the 5 million figure then. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:13, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didnt restore it I reverted their edit once. I even forgot about it till you brought it up at the talk page. To be honest I didn't care about the figures anyway. Cookiemonster1618 (talk) 02:32, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When you revert an edit, it restores the previous version of the article. Please take more care in future to consider what you're reverting and to explain why you're doing it (if it's not obvious vandalism) in the edit summary. Cordless Larry (talk) 09:40, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
