infobox

[edit]

every IIHF tournament over the past few years has updated the infobox with tournament stats while in progress. I am not sure what the issue is this year, but I have been away for awhile. I did notice that team handball continues to use it as has been commonly done though.18abruce (talk) 04:43, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really asking too much to wait until the tournament is over, before adding the stats? That would be better the having daily updates in the top infobox. GoodDay (talk) 05:37, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What difference does it make? Since multiple users had added and updated the stats, and only you are removing them, please restore as is policy until there is a consensus.18abruce (talk) 21:58, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Do as yas want. The IPs are in overdrive, anyway. GoodDay (talk) 22:38, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

quater finals

[edit]

Official schedule says that Canada plays in the 3rd QF, and they are the home team. Also note that they will play in the first SF if they advance.18abruce (talk) 03:39, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Visible Pool A & B

[edit]

Why should we have to scroll through inches of extraneous lists to get to the main pools? The other groups are visible, and they are not even being played? BigJake54 (talk) 18:09, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what you are seeing or why, but I don't. Your solution that you have put in today seems like a good idea if the playoff round is also modified.18abruce (talk) 19:14, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the menu of the page it is still bizarre that subjects are not contained within their headings. Is there a problem where the game details are not collapsed possibly?18abruce (talk) 19:16, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Game details are not collapsed for me. So, I have to scroll quote a bit to get to Group B. I recaptioned the top section and added the playoffs. BigJake54 (talk) 20:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Four different editors now have reversed your changes, maybe its time to let it go. Perhaps look up a tech solution to your problem. It is possible that in the future we could split it out like the men's and women's tournaments with a standalone menu page so that the top division would have a page to itself.18abruce (talk) 17:13, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Playoff Format

[edit]

In 2019 the IIHF changed the format, first affecting the juniors in the 2020 tournament. Despite the term "reseeded" being included in the format explanation this does not appear to be enough so I have added the source from the IIHF (to the 2020 page) explaining when the change in format occurred. It is a minor difference in the bracket in that the only real difference is that there are no lines between the QF and SF rounds, but I believe it to be an important distinction. I acknowledge that the two years that have been affected would have had the same matchups as if no change had happened, but I still think it is important to present the information in a way that visually supports that that is simply a coincidence.18abruce (talk) 23:27, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You clearly don't know much about Wikipedia brackets. What matters are final results (and final matchups). You can choose to not show lines while matchups are not known, however, once they become known there is zero logic to not include the lines from QF to SF. Also, show some consistency - the least you could do is use the same bracket as in 2020, then. NoWikiNoLife 00:28, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please be civil when you express your opinion. There was an improved template used for this year, why does that matter? And I did not put the template there, so you seem to be trying to argue against multiple users now. The point of both last year's template and this year's was to visually demonstrate that there was reseeding after the first round, as is done across wikipedia; that is why the templates for them exist. Factual material was presented to you that you demonstrated an unawareness of, it happens to everyone, it is not a reason to be rude.18abruce (talk) 00:46, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
